What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I didn't know any better, I suppose, but I thought my scout knife with all of its indispensable tools was far superior to the clip/pen jack I used to have to borrow from my Dad if I needed to cut stuff!

and I thought my stockman was all I ever needed, when I was a kid. ;) 😊 That is quite the lamb collection. I need one of those wooden Hartsheads. One is all you need ! 😲🤣

What a gorgeous lock back !!! ... and couldn't have found a better home. NICE
The bolster stamp SW [HEAD] 0 indicates the knife is a 1980 release ... and still looks brand spanking new 😲
As far as I know, they were only released as such in 1980 and 1981
I have a Schrade Wostenholm Canoe released in 1980 (has same bolster stamp as yours)

Thank you brother Jim. I would like to see your Canoe from the series. 😊

I did a quick research about the history before I bought it (at a very attractive price) ........... I liked the blade etches and the pretty red bone, similar to the old Case red bones. I don't think it had ever been used or sharpened.

Interesting piece of cutlery history Mr P :) I knew at least 2 cutlers who were involved in the project, including a former brother-in-law. Camillus made many of the parts, and they were shipped over to the old Richards factory in Sheffield, by Imperial-Schrade, who had recently bought the firm, made up into knives, and shipped back to the USA, with considerable secrecy in Sheffield. My dad used to have that particular model, but with stag covers, while I had the larger lock-back. Ours had plain bolsters

Double stag for me again :) Have a great New Year's Eve folks, and best wishes for 2023

As a family we enjoy playing cards here too, John. We'll break into a Euchre match today, daughters, son in laws and grandkids all know the game. It is a good way to keep the group around the table enjoying each others company after a big meal. Have a good weekend and a great new year.
