For this last day of 2022, I am going to tote a couple of my most recent acquisitions.
Opinel No. 8 Limited Edition in Black Palm wood and Anthracite on the steel and Peter Rabbit.

LOVE the look of the rip cut black palm on the Opinel. That is just gorgeous!

Haven't carried a Sodbuster style knife for awhile so I'm carrying this Bull Nose today. Staying home today and tonight. No plans for New Years Eve. Corned Beef Hash and 2-eggs up for breakfast.

Wwll, my friend, way back whem the company brought in some banking dude to explain the shiny new 401K plan, and encourage us to particiiate, he said “no plan is a plan”.
But I know what you mean. Being naturally loopy, I don’t drink, and parties bore me. My New Year’s Eve plans will be the same as most other nights ~ kissing my wife and daughter goodnight, and spending an hour or two with my guitar in front of my music stand. Woo Hoo!

It has often been stated how unwise it is to partially open multiple blades on the same spring. The risk is said to be a broken spring
Yet, that is precisely how I received this knife and likely it had been stored in this manner for decades
Perhaps a testament to the steel, either composition, heat treat, dimensions, or combination thereof used in the spring and pattern construction
Unlike perhaps that found in some Camillus and Queen knives for example that have been known to experience broken springs
However, a feature of the presentation packaging provides for storage with the blades in a closed position. So there is that.

The serial number on mine mysteriously disappeared on mine. That's what happens to serialized knives around here.
I've never noticed a serialized knife hold a higher value, quite possibly a lower value.
I have bought quite a few Case knives that were packaged in a box with the blades opened like yours.

The sad part for the Bunnies on the train, that have yet to arrive, is everyone is going to get tired of seeing them.
Not me though, I love the Bunnies.
