What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

For me, being more careful with my money means not buying knives. 😗
An annual Blade Forums knife, as long as I am lucky to be able to participate, as well as a little walking around money for just in case at the Badger Knife Show in March is all I intend to spend. It’s irresponsible for me to keep buying knives when I have so many and only two pockets. It does not help when everyday, several porchsters say “this just came in the mail”…😂

But in the interest of full disclosure the boss lady was going over the credit card statement last night, and informed me how much I have spent so far on seeds for the coming growing season.🙃
Hehe, you have a point and I was joking a little bit. I’ll revise my resolution to be more careful with money and to carefully pick a few good knives but not too many. 😉

If your father in law is not a member here, he should be. We could warn him to keep an eye on his sticky fingered son in law.
I did manage to slip away from Chattanooga with some extra steel in my pocket at his expense. If he wasn’t so daggum generous, I might get a chance to work on my burglary skills! He sent me down the road with a Buck 055 - a pattern I’ve been eyeing for awhile since I love all things with brass bolsters. He would fit it quite well here. Big heart, dad jokes, sarcasm that is not well adapted for social media type platforms…perfect.

That purple is a very lovely knife.👍
Thank you sir! The jigging on that one is what impressed me. It was much deeper that Case’s standard.
Lovely little blade! I love the choice of brass with this wood. Well done!
I'm hoping for a quiet evening ( I left hangovers behind a long time ago).

Excellent pair Bob! These two are lookers. I started just to brag on the Ohta, but the snakewood senator is a beauty as well!
Hail, Porch dwellers … I’ve been under the weather (waaay under) for the past week, but here’s today’s carry (recycled pic).
Still not feeling up to much, but here’s wishing all a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year!

Hope you bounce back soon Paul! Happy New Year to you sir!
Two stunners for sure!!! The snakewood is immaculate.

Decided to go back to this one to carry some stag on Saturday.

Oh, I just got my tracking # for the bunny knife this morning!!! Can't wait. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
Such a cool Gunstock. I love Queen’s clip Gunstock of that era. Glad that bunny is finally headed in your direction!
Great pic of a beautiful knife my man!

Well done! Way to put that whittler to work! As a Braves fan, I really shouldn’t celebrate anything remotely Cardinal-ish…but this is just cool!
These two today. Used to be when we put these in our pocket for a day’s work, a slip was something that happened on a wet floor.😜

TRUE! Those two can flat out work!

Got home after a long stay with my wife’s folks. My FIL wanted me to head home with a knife of his. He is a big Case guy but has a sprinkling of other makers. Because I love brass bolstered knives, I have been wanting a Buck 055. He had one that had a few miles on it and wanted me to have it. Such a great guy.

These were in my pockets today.

Cool Catts JJ, I don't recall seeing the Spey before :)
Thanks a lot, Jack!!! The Spey is a tough old fella :) Very cool images of your outstanding vacation destination, a region I wanted to surf in my younger days.
Double stag for me again :) Have a great New Year's Eve folks, and best wishes for 2023

Some marvelous stag to accompany you into the New Year; Happy New Year Jack!😎🥳👍👍

Thanks, Bart. I have the set of 7 from that heritage run and rotate them in and out of carry, I enjoy the old timey look of them. Made in 2012
I think. :)
Carrying another from that set today, rosewood covered single blade. Also have this stag Solingen Cutlery knife in the pocket today.

Two more nice ones. The stag on that one is exceptional.
Can some of your "free range" mama cows be kind of savage, Bart? Our dairy cows interacted with us closely twice a day, so they seemed to never have much anxiety about our taking their calves.

Awesome group of lambsfoot knives, Gary. Yes, the cows can sometimes be aggressive when we are tagging the calves or when we have them in the corrals. I’ve definitely taken some rides on their heads over the years. We try to get rid of the crazy ones, so overall they’re pretty good.

Turned out great. Nice work, Jon👍
Thanks Bart. That’s a Vanilla Porter from Breckenridge, a brand acquired by Budweiser, very tasty. 😎👍
I’ll have to keep my eye out for that one. I love a good porter.

Glad you were able to have some quality time with family Jon.
I would like to see more brass on knives myself. The mild patina that developed lends an interesting touch to the overall appearance.

Some marvelous stag to accompany you into the New Year; Happy New Year Jack!😎🥳👍👍
I don't really have much use for a Spey blade, but I find single Speys rather cool-looking knives JJ  Thank you my friend, I'm going to try and post some more today. I can imagine why, the Jandia region seems very popular with surfers :) Many thanks, a Happy New Year to you JJ :)
Toting these two glitzy slicers to ring in the New Year; Happy New Year to all! :)
Those two Champagne-coloured sparklers look like a very appropriate choice for seeing in the New Year JJ :)
Health to all, deeper friendships and new adventures.View attachment 2032237
Fine pairing, and sentiment Bob :)

Happy New Year everyone, wishing you all the very best for a peaceful and trouble-free 2023
