What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Congrats to the SDSU Jackrabbits on their National Championship victory over my NDSU Bison, a decisive victory at that!!! Carried my Bunny knife and Conductor, I NEVER should have carried the Bunny knife!!!

High quality quintet, Jer; I admire all the rounded bolsters!:thumbsup::cool:
If Jack's KOTY thread didn't require that I actually OWN the knives I nominate, I'd have been sorely tempted to nominate that GEC 88 clip/lamb sowbelly as Knife of the Year.🤓

Jack, does this mean that you prefer solitary walks over walking with companions?? ;)🤓

Thanks, John. :) I just checked back through this thread and my knife spreadsheet and discovered that my old schedule actually ran out almost exactly a year ago, and I started a temporary carry schedule that included only knives I had obtained in 2020 and 2021. Looks like I used that temp. schedule from last January 10 into last July, and then I started just making up "thematic" groups of knives to carry each week. That was kind of fun, but way too much creativity was required on my part! I'm sure I'll be much happier with 60 weeks of carries laid out for me in advance!😁:cool:

Pure gold knives, Bob! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Nice lamb, cared for by a dog with strong herding instincts!:cool::thumbsup:

Superlative stag pair, José! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Jack looks like he's keeping his feet amazingly clean on the muddy trail!:cool::cool:
How do you like that SAK Walker?

Attractive display case!:thumbsup::cool: What are the dimensions?

Many admirable wood artifacts you included in your Wooden Wednesday photo!:thumbsup::cool:

Sorry to read that you were still struggling with your health, Paul. :( Reminds me of an old song (whose lyrics I modified to fit your situation):
Feeling sick, it's a bad one.
I fought a bug and the bug won.
I fought a bug and the bug won.

Hope you shake it off ASAP.:thumbsup::)

That EO Imperial utility knife is definitely a classic!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Congrats on getting one of the exceedingly rare copper versions of the ebony WCLF, Jack!! 🤓:thumbsup:

Everyone has to handle their approach to knives in a way that works for their own personality and circumstances. I say my schedule "relieves anxiety of deciding what to carry and makes me feel in control" while you can legitimately say "too regimented for me.":cool::thumbsup:

Todd and Jeff, your use of the word "fancy" for your wood covers is completely justified!! 😲:cool:

I wouldn't say that organizing an "intervention" for you involving a mental health care professional is "calling the authorities" on you, Rob! o_O
Just curious, would your health care plan cover mental health services, or should we start some kind of fund raiser for you? You seem to have a quite intense case of "imagination", so treatment may be prolonged, and I fear I might have to sell ALL my Rough Ryders to help you out.;)😁

I think in the distant past, there may have been more single spring canoes. I kind of like the 3-spring, no krinking stockman patterns, too.
BTW, I should correct an earlier claim I made to @pmek5 : I noticed to day that I have a Schrade-Wostenholm I*XL canoe that also has a single spring, and asymmetric liners.

Jeff, you should see what mathematicians have to say about "voting theory" and options like ranked preference voting. 🤓 I don't pretend to think that everything can be quantified, but I think it's worth investigating any quantifiable aspects of a situation to see if that provides helpful insights.

And I agree with you that carrying a knife for only a day is often not very satisfying. That's why my rotation schedule is set up for me to carry the same batch of knives for a week at a time. I'll often only use 2 or 3 of the dozen or so I have assigned to me for the week, but the others are available if I feel an urge for more variety.

Thank you Gary but are coming back to life slowly.

Many thanks my friend :) They do love hyperbole don't they?! :D
Absolutely! The produce far more "entertainment" than actual news... 😲
Two absolute classics JJ :) I hope you can stay dry buddy :)
Thank you for your kind words, Jack!!! :)
Hope everyone is having a great weekend, and that you have a restful and relaxing Sunday :)

Your two wonderful Sunday slicers are at as at home attending a formal White Tie event as they are spending the day relaxing; real beauties!😃👍👍

Looks like a beautiful time to enjoy the slopes Bart. Nice carry for the day.
Thanks, Bob. We timed it just right between storms.
Simple beauty... knife and setting, both.
Thank you👍
Your Camco is turning blue from the cold... Get that knife and yourself next to fire pronto. 😁
I did manage to warm up later, knife is still blue though???😁
By hook or by crook, I am going to trout fish more this year! Definitely the best way for me to get (and keep) my mind right.

Getting fly boxes organized - nymphs today, dries next week. I’m taking a seminar on tying Catskill Dries in a week or two.

Hope everyone’s 2023 is starting out well and I wish you all health & happiness!

Great goal for the year. I need to do the same!
What's the story behind that crazy place??
- GT
It’s a pedestrian alley in San Luis Obispo. The walls on both sides are covered in layers and layers of chewed gum, higher than you can reach. It’s pretty disgusting. We had to show the kids😁

Thanks, Jack, it's a one-blade and a two-blade and a three-blade . . .
 :D
Definitely wishing you a quick recovery so you can get out ASAP!
Many thanks kind sir :)
Speaking of ebony...

Handsome pairing Bob :)
What a fine pair of lambsfoot examples designed by a pair of Porch pillars!!
Thank you Gary :)

When I was younger, I walked very fast, and since none of my friends could maintain the same pace, I got into the habit of mostly walking and backpacking alone. I also liked to go out midweek when I could, which few of my friends' jobs allowed. Now, I walk at a much slower pace, and am happy with company, but sometimes I find my friends are tied up with work and kids

The Wiss Boker is a favorite of mine, because I can't decide if it's a big little knife or a little big knife.
The Klaas whitler, I may never have carried before. I have no idea where or when I got it.

I carried them both to church this morning. I'll see how I feel after a nap.
Cool old Whittler Jer :)
Great pair of knives! That Lamb is exquisite! 👍🤠
Many thanks David :)
What a great-looking knife Dwight, and a stunning pic

I carried these two Camillus Scouts for my Sunday cutters. :)
Superb Sunday choices JJ, they pair beautifully :)

Have a good week folks :) Starting mine with my Hartshead Barlow, and an Imperial made the same year I was born

Two nice carries Jack and a birth year newspaper?

Lost and found. This one was lost in my closet for a few years.

Always rewarding to find a MIA knife, one of mine stayed in some old jeans for 6 years in a garage....

Not surprising that Coyote disappeared, it's a small but very well-made knife, my Northfield Blackwood remains in its 'kennel'/ Tube :)

I was still carrying the Camco this morning.

I swapped it out for the barlow when I got home today.

There were tons of trees down in the neighborhood when we got home from all the storms we’ve been getting.

Wow, what a mess Bart. Hope you didn’t have any damage, you might need more than your Barlow to deal with that mess. 😎👍
