Forget what you carried....Yesterday morning, around 3:00 a.m., there was a minor earthquake, which originated about five miles from where I live. Six hours later and about my usual time to post my daily tote(s), I had just finished dressing and was in the process of making the very important decision of what knives to tote, which was interrupted by the loud weather sirens down the street. I looked on the NWS weather page and noticed that we were under a tornado warning, seeing the visible proof of a very scary looking blob of red, in the shape of a backward C, bearing down on my little town. Having my talent or affliction for recognizing shapes (depending on how you look at it), I deduced that shape to indeed be a tornado.
The sirens repeated and lasted a longer time the second warning. I took it more serious and hollered for Elijah J., grabbed my Primble Barlow and phone off the sideboard, and proceeded to the basement. I settled on an old bench, where I could see out the basement door. Kitty boy sat out the storm with me on the bench and while the wind got high (looked to be gusting to maybe 50 mph) it didn't last very long. Right after that, I could hear sirens from emergency vehicles. My daughter-in-law texted me around that time and said that a tornado hit downtown and did damage to buildings.
I wonder how many places are lucky enough to experience an earthquake and a tornado in a six hour span ?
To make an already long story a bit shorter, I will just say that there were no injuries reported and my family's property was spared this time. Some barns and roofs damaged, as well as a few homes that got quite a bit more hard hit. The weather service survey said it was a 2.9 magnitude earthquake and an EF-1 tornado, pushing 110 mph winds, on the ground for 2.25 miles.
Back to knives, since I grabbed my Primble Barlow to save yesterday, I will make it up to one of my favorite Catt's to tote, by toting it today. It was left behind on the sideboard yesterday morning and being a Catt, might have got its feelings hurt.

Thanks, Bob!Thanks Bart.....glad you could get out and enjoy some beautiful country with your friends. You have any cutting needs covered nicely.
Thanks, Todd. They were having fun but putting up with me all day can be exhaustingThanks Bart.
Two nice photos Bart. The Trout & Bunny combo really look good and your pups look tired but happy.![]()
Thanks, Jim. Lots of damage around town but nothing major on the ranches. I will have debris to clean off the fences in the creek crossings once the water comes down. The cattle are doing well and it looks like it will be a good feed year with all this rain.Bart, hopefully the excessive rain isn’t doing any damage and will help your cattle thrive.
I’m sorry, I forgot you have 23s!3.5" closed.

Very impressive! I'm on a bit of a break from carving right now. I developed some pretty bad tendonitis (I think) in both hands. Hopefully it gets better so I can continue to practice.Getting close.
