Colonial.
I like plain folks' knives, especially if they have "simulated stag" handles.:thumbsup::cool:
I think you showed a photo of this knife to me when I was trying to determine the maker of this antique store find of mine, with tang stamp that shows only "U S A" like the pen blade of yours, but without periods.

Shields and covers seem VERY similar.

Hello to all
I have 3 knives I would give to anyone who has children; who would be allowed to have and use.( now or later).
Just PM with name&address.
Hope I am not breaking any rules etiquette.

Very thoughtful of you, Bob!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
(That Imperial serpentine jack is a beauty!)

I still think the shifter knob tops that walking stick off nicely. Ha! And a pair of fine looking knives too, I see.

Here are a couple of my regular trail partners, Liberty and the Cadet. Note, I did not carve the Cedar hiking staff. A friend carved that for me, and personalized it too. I am applying the medallions as I can find them.

That red bone Cadet is real attractive!:cool::thumbsup: I haven't seen too many USA-made small Buck stockmans with bone covers; I have a Chinese Buck 373 with some kind of brown/amber jigged bone, but it's not nearly as good looking as your 303!

I always admire your Mohawk Canoe Gary :)

Hope everyone's week has got off to a good start :) Carrying my Charlie Lamb again today, and a Random Tuesday Barlow gifted to me by r8shell r8shell :)
...
Thanks for the canoe compliment, Jack. :)
Your jigged bone WCLF is outstanding, and I like that Old Timer Barlow r8shell r8shell gave you!:cool::thumbsup:

Alox and stag - two of my favorite cover materials! Dashing duo, José!:cool::cool:

That 34OT is a classic, Bob, and grand grain on the lambsfoot!:thumbsup::cool:
I like your photos taken on the roof of the knife storage facilities.

This TL-29 is unique among the ones I have. It comes from early after their switchover to synthetic from cocobolo. The forward placement of the shackle pin, and fully finished back are the clues of that. But what puzzles me is the handle material. It looks to me like the Bakelight invented as an electrical insulator and used by Leo Fender on his Telecasters from the fifties.
Bakelite was used on old telephone cases, right? The covers of this knife remind me of Bakelite, but I don't know if that material was capable of swirly coloration like this:

Buck 102, Sak Explorer and RR Acorn Barlow. Jack reunites on the trail with his friend Tyra that he hasn't seen since last summer.

I really like the rich brown bone on that RR Barlow!:thumbsup::cool:

Carrying this pretty little Eisenhower I got from the Case Pass Around Box.View attachment 2049407
If you haven’t seen the thread yet I put a link below. Tons of fun and you never know, you just might find a new favorite that you’d never considered before.
That IS a pretty Eisenhower, Todd!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
I like the bone; do you know if that's called "burnt amber" jigged bone?

I did get lucky finding my Cattaraugus....I do hope you get to enjoy the day now after your kind words to everyone.
Thanks for the encouragement, Bob. :)
As far as my being a giver of kind words, it takes one to know one! ;)🤓

The 1974 outbreak remains vivid in my mind GT. It was the day before I turned twenty.
I watched a violent one from my parent's back porch, as my mother was screaming at me to get to the basement. Just as I was opening the back door to comply, it went back up in the sky and disappeared. Not before it had severely damaged 60 homes though. 🌪️ :(
An experience like that would definitely make a lasting impression! 😲
(So your birthdate looks the same in both DD/MM and MM/DD format? How cool is that?!?🤓)

A spear/pen teardrop is certainly a desirable pattern! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Besides carrying my Case Bose Bullnose, also carrying this smaller Kabar with stag for a special delivery to my 12 year old nephew and hunting buddy. He saw a big Kabar hunter in the safe and wanted it. Found him the small Kabar 1186 still new in the box. Had his name and year engraved on it for him. Taking it over to him today.

I’ll do a longer post, but his interest in the Kabar and search to find him a couple of nice traditionals rekindled my own interest.

A horrible wet,damp,foggy,grey English day.

So I went back to the museum,I still havent seen 1/10 of it just so much to see even the bits I saw I know missed a lot.

Though some people wizz through and dont have a clue what they are missing.

The place was rammned all of a sudden its very popular with familys,I went straight to the back and up in a lift to 2 gallerys that most people miss.

I was sure the kids would be wanting to view the Dinosaurs so I will view them another day on a schoolday when it should be quiet.

Today I choose my excellent Scout knife (kindly sent to me after a GAW) to drop in my pocket. 😇

On the way home I stopped for a coffee in a popular coffee stop for students/familys and the like.

I took lots of knife photos for you and will post them in another thread if you like.

Today I learnt there was such a thing as knife money, clearly they where ahead of time and anticipated facebook re seller's and the like. 😂
