Hi I actually scrubbed it with bar keepers friend after soaking in WD40. I don't think it was ever cleaned. Finished with mineral oil.

Looks fantastic. Thanks for that, will keep it in mind on my next refurb and give it a try.

I am sure there are more professional ways but there was some rust as well as dirt.
I really would not advise it...but was all I had at the time.
