What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

These were in my pocket yesterday. Today, who knows?

Chicken dinner* and pool at Eagles today. I might go washing machine shopping too. My 37 year old Montgomery Wards machine quit working yesterday. I've repaired it twice myself over the years, but I fear that it has spun its last spin cycle. 🪦 Thirty seven years was a pretty good run. Several years ago, I looked around and said, "all this stuff is going to fail at the same time." A year ago I bought a new refrigerator. Last summer the hot water heater and the well pump went out. Now the washer. I hate being right all the time

I feel the need for tools, so I think I'll take the Cadet today:

*I grew up in Michigan. In Michigan, at that time, "dinner" was the equivalent of "supper", i.e. the evening meal. Here in Missouri "dinner" is most often used to mean the midday meal, i.e. "lunch", but can also mean the evening meal depending on who's saying it and the context. It's all very complicated and takes years to master. Anyway, I'm going to a chicken lunch. Just though I'd clarify that thumb.gif

Those two go together well Jeff 😊👍
Thanksmy friend! Good afternoon to you.
UK laws are puzzling. When we were in Edinburgh, the buses had big banners reminding the public that air rifles, aka: pellet guns were now illegal. Yet if you ask me, I’d rather get hit with an air rifle than a crossbow. 🥴
Two very functional carries today Jack. Enjoy your Friday.

It's old timers day with two new oldies. The weekend is in sight!

I was going to say what SteveC SteveC said. But he said it better.
I *think*, even though that causes trouble, that three companies made the WWII Navy Jacks~ Camillus, Imperial, and PAL Blade Co. And PAL got into it by buying all of Remington’s knife tooling when Reminton switched over to making brass cartridge casings for the war effort.
Anyway, it’s kind of the quitessential jackknife!
Gorgeous vintage pair! 👌

You could just say “put on the feed bag”, but Chicken Feed Bag is a little weird.

Kabar swayback, and Bullnose for me today. My wife was not impressed by the glow-in-the-dark Knifebrite®️. “Is that so old men don’t lose their knife?”🥺DA4FD850-AB79-4654-A7F5-41D1815A0B34.jpeg4F1B2FEE-ACE4-4B63-842B-5E3FD03BB157.jpeg
Have a fine Friday, and stay warm. Except for mitch13 mitch13 . You stay cool.

Thank you Jeff.
I appreciate the added input concerning my knife. There is so much info to search out.
Nice sturdy carries...and your wife may be right.😁

You can never go wrong with a Vic!
Chicken lunch sounds good! Funny how lunch and dinner get used in different regions. When I was growing up in Ohio dinner was the evening meal, except for Sunday dinner which was around lunch time.

Good story about old appliances. My brother tells one about the snow blower that he inherited when my dad passed. It finally bit the dust earlier this winter. Back in 1966, in Utica, NY, we had a huge blizzard. Took us days to shovel out. My dad announced that he had a decision to make between a color TV and a snow blower. The snow blower won. That same snow blower, with a couple of engine replacements, was used every winter for 56 years. Needless to say, my brother still has his first communion money......

I just finished cleaning up and detailing this old Robeson Pocket Eze folder made for the Craftsman trade (not the company). The main spear is stamped and they made a similar knife that was stamped "Mechanic" on the blade. This one also has a short pointy carpenters blade and a nice punch. Fantastic snap on all the blades. I love the bone. I got this from the grandson of a cutler that worked in the old Camillus factory. All hammered pins places this in the 1920's or earlier era. The patent date stamped on the punch is April 25-05. I'm a totin' it today. 😊
3 & 5/8" closed.
