$2.50 at an estate sale because half of the other handle cover was gone.

The main blade is slightly bent a half inch from the point also.
Not terribly bent:

Absolutely gorgeous Mr P :) :thumbsup:

Thank you kindly my friend, but I have no specialist knowledge of psychiatric matters! :D ;) :thumbsup:

Thank you my friends. I am fond of that old Catt. :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:😍
Mr. Jack, I might be able to help him with all my psychiatric experiences. ;)🤣

Boker Castlewood today …

Been away for a few days, some good times going on both knife & non-knife :) We need to get Dan's post into proper perspective: glad he enjoys the Mini-Puukko, they are useful but a modest reply to his altruistic generosity. He contacted me and offered to send me gratis, a Forum Knife 20 that I'd been looking for to add as a reserve. What he sent me was an example I find spectacular, best I've seen- so many thanks indeed for that😎

Those who like this particular pattern will agree, super-fit :thumbsup: Much kindness too.

A fine trio Gary....my favorite is the Schrade.
Thanks, Bob. :)

Although that 897UH is 3/16" to 1/4" longer than my pocket likes, I have to agree with your statement... "ideal of how a medium stockman should be built"
Not to mention that they are just plain 'a good lookin' knife'. I always did like the bright, crisp look of Staglon in the hand.
Thanks. :)
I agree with you about Staglon, maybe because I saw Staglon long before I ever saw any real stag. Sometimes I think of stag as "imitation Staglon". 🤓

Three good 'uns Gary :cool: :thumbsup:
Thanks, Jack. :)

Good morning everyone. I hope all are doing well. It's above freezing so off to the golf course.View attachment 2066481

Edit...snow!!! No golf

That Navy knife or utility knife or whatever you call the top knife (bail, spear/pen, EO) is an iconic knife, Bob! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
That's an impressive-looking sharpening rig you have set up there! What model is it? Are you pleased with it's performance?

Another day with RR barlow. I must say that I fell in love with this pattern everyday I carry it. I've polished the copper bolsters to make it shine more.
It's a bit heavy.

That RR Barlow looks great in copper! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Handsome knife, excellent photo! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:
What's the little "box"?

Another nice lineup Gary, love knives with a story. 😎👍
Here’s my Wednesday wood pile. Have a great day folks! 😎👍View attachment 2066834
Thanks, Todd. :)
Dapper wood duo for you (although there's something fishy about that pen)! :cool::cool::thumbsup:
Speaking of stories, what's the story of that "black map" that frequently show up in your photos?

Cherish the Churchill! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Off to the market in the morning, with my Rosewood 'Big 'Un, and Glennbad 'Big Biscuit' in tow :) :thumbsup:

Prestigious pair, Jack! :cool::thumbsup::cool:
I really like the pic of your Big Biscuit stag with the little biscuits. 🤓:thumbsup:

Been on an old Case kick lately. Today I went for the canoe.

Compelling Case canoe! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Great tip! 😄👍
Thanks, and no charge. :)

I'm liking that canoe... a lot.
There's just something about the lines of a canoe...
Totally agree! Love the smooth profile of a closed canoe, so symmetric and no sharp corners sticking out anywhere! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Love the old catalogs, Gary. Except that the prices, like $1.25 for a box of 12 makes my head hurt. I try to honor what the manufacturer called them. Did you know that Camillus called the wire loop on the end a “Shackle” instead of bail?

However, when a manufacturer calls certain knives “Barlows”, …🤡

Regarding the woodchips… Lordy no. Two dump trucks full is a lot to move by wheelbarrow, great exercise not withstanding.
I did prepare for more exercise though, by using my leaf blower to make a path through my gate.
...
I was looking at an old catalog recently (I think it was a link J Just Tom. posted) and none of the patterns were "named", just model numbers or order numbers. I actually DID know that another word for "bail" is "shackle", and shackle actually makes more sense to me. :rolleyes:
That's a LOT of wood chips, however you move them! o_O

Thanks, Gary! I’m working on it!
😉
:thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Nice boats.
I get a kick out of birthday formats. A computer is not smart, but when I tell a human “56”, and they ask, “1956?”I say, “ 2056. I have a Delorean.” Or, “No, 1856, I’ve had some work done”.
Thanks for the canoe compliment, Jeff. :)

😁You were born in '56, eh?
That's my wife's birth year, and also the birth year for one of my sisters (sister's birthday is actually today, and my avatar is taken from a photo of her 3rd birthday party). Here's a pic of a birth year sewer manhole cover for you; the knife is a Boker USA electrician.

I am 68 weeks behind :), but trying to figure out how to upgrade my membership so I can participate again. Missed you all, as always fantastic stuff posted here, great knives!
Welcome back, Tom! :cool::cool::thumbsup: Looking forward to seeing some of your knives on the rocks!

Wow...worked all it's life and you are going to yank it out of retirement? 😟 😅
I'm a taskmaster, Bob! :(
Besides, if I can get a couple more years of use from some of these tired old knives, maybe I can squeeze a couple more years out of tired old me! 🤓

...
Great and versatile group, GT.

Black Monday, thanks again Paul.

Thanks for the encouragement, Jeremy. :)
There are not very many GEC that grab my serious attention, but those 88s certainly do! Sowbelly AND Lambsfoot? Yes, please! :thumbsup:🤓:thumbsup:

What's the little "box"?
That's Harry Bear's matchbox cover. Unfortunately they were a different size and shape then.
Probably Harry Baer, but I like to give him a hard time because he changed it from something longer so he wouldn't have to keep spelling it for everybody.

EDIT (a couple hours later):
Decided to add my standard production 2015 Buck 110 (in factory black "distressed" leather sheath) to my belt. I haven't carried a 110 for "too long".
Also not shown: Toferner Celtic Pocket/Neck Knife, and the Marbles Orange G-10 Scout Knife.

Good luck Bob, try the Sheffield Museums resource. It used to be quite a limited database, but Geoff Tweedale told me he's contributed his recent research there, since it isn't practical to produce a 3rd edition of his Sheffield cutlery directory 👍
Some progress Jack. My search request at the museum has been passed on to the metallurgy department.
