What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Maybe roofers and carpet installers too. 🤔 😊

Definitely, I have a couple that are marked as 'Lino Knives' 👍
Yes! When I have to cut shingles or drywall, or even cardboard ~ anything abrasive, I use one of these linoleum knives-

I think you mean might mean @btb01 Jeff, correct?

Thanks Todd, I really should carry it more as it is a fantastic knife.
Oh man…thanks for the correction!

This explains part of my problem…

Case Knife of the Week is a CV chestnut jigged bone sowbelly stockman (a surprise Christmas gift several years ago from the late @Half/Stop):

I think I have the same knife, spotted it doing extra duty in Eastern Promises! :D

...It’s a sweet knife to hold and use, and I always wonder why I don’t carry it more often. Is there a better knife for the price than an Opinel?....
I carried an Inox No. 8 as my main knife for some time a few years ago, and it really is hard to beat. If you didn't care about variety, or history, or have favorites based on how they look, an Opinel no.8 would be very hard to beat.

It's cheap, and easily replaced (so no need to baby it or worry about losing it), it's as good a slicer as any knife I've owned, it's very lightweight, ergonomic to use, surprisingly easy to carry for its size, good looking. Every time I carry mine I briefly wonder, "why didn't I stop with this and consider pocket knives a solved problem?" Such great knives.

It's hanging with my lamb today.

Yesterday's carry, after dark indoor pic on an endgrain maple countertop I got salvage and slowly doctored up with glue, linseed, and walnut oil until it finally stopped opening up on me.

Oh my, that red bone 39.. wowza! 😍 It's such a great pattern and yours looks fantastic, my friend!

I see some glop on the blade there, but I notice it’s the second day in a row that you’re hiding what you’re eating.
Haha! Nothing exciting, just cucumbers and strawberries for my kids’ lunches.
We’ve been there, or as they say in Wisconsin, we bin over by dere. I have two complaints about that ice sculpture show.
Number one, there are entirely too many Illanoyans clogging up those infernal one way streets.
Number two, it’s too cold. I don’t see why they can’t hold it in nice tee shirt weather like the annual art fair.
Maybe cheese sculptures when the weather gets warmer?😁
Great blades, but too bad they don’t patina.
😉👍
I know! You gotta be in for the long haul. The patina comes decades down the road when the bone is pocket worn 😁

Ah chilli season.😊😋
Been hot here but with real high humidty. So much so the wife rang to go the pool yesterday afternoon. So we went(teenagers stayed at home😯)
Only 5 minutes away, nice & cooling.

Todays carry : I could call this a Bear Trap but it is little too small for any Bears other that a Cub . One that I picked up at the 2017 Rendezvous and it was a Store model . Stag Northfield 262212 . The blade was obviously stamped to be made in 2012 but was used , I think , as available parts to make knives to sell at the 2017 Rendezvous and that is fine with me . It is only 3 " closed but does kind of fill your hand up .
