What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Wharncliffe trapper today…and some bulls.

According to USPS tracking mine is out for delivery. I ordered it Sunday night, and Monday morning I got a USPS notice that "a label has been created, awaiting pickup." Since then, I've gotten a total of 16 more notices from USPS that it'll be delivered Friday.........so far. A couple months ago with the Bunny Knife, I got a label created notice, then nothing else until it showed up in my mailbox.

A couple more from the NYKC for Friday. I don't tote these very often, but, I don't know why.
The 3.25" closed jack knife is a pleasure to carry in the watch pocket and functions as good as any new knife I own. 😊
I might rub on the bone a bit today to get the mahogany color underneath the dark dye to show up more. 🤔

 That first ones a stunner!! Stopped me in my tracks. Love everything about it just needed to let you know. Have yourself a great friday.

This is starting to become a weekly occurance lately but I need to share with the porch a generous act from another great member.

First the knife. I am totin a BF swayback gifted to me by sbh06 sbh06 . An awesome example of one of the great annual knives commisioned for the porch.

In addition to the knife. Jeremy also gifted me this beautiful handmade wallet and matching slip. For reference the symbol is the military map symbol for 81mm mortar which I was blessed to be in my time in the service. Everytime I look at these two I will remember your kind gesture and reflect a little on the great memories I had with my brothers in the Army. Thank you. This gift goes far beyond just a wallet and slip.

For the slip I have dedicated it to be used with this awesome recovered and EO modded 85. The end of the knife ressembles the tip of a mortar round and it has a wonderful bomb shield. Perfect match for this slip. I was told that the knife was recovered in culpepper jigged bone. If anyone could elaborate on what that is I would greatly appreciate it.

Jeremy has been a great friend and a great guy. I truly appreciate it. I am looking forward to our continued friendship.

I apologize for the long winded post but things like this must be recognized.

Thank you Mr. Jack and what a cool picture …… stout looking machinery !😊
Many thanks Mr P :) There would have been hundreds of those etching machines in Sheffield at one time. I doubt there are many left now :(

Well done Jeremy ;cool: Congratulations Paul, that's some beautiful leatherwork :)

Heh I appreciate the sentiment
But ...I doubt it

But it will get better so I am told
The full story was told in the lounge a couple weeks ago
Ah, found it. Thanks. And please accept my sincere condolences, Ryan.
Time heals. Trust me on that. You’ll never forget, but at some point, your thoughts will focus on the good memories, and instead of grief, you’ll feel gratitude for the time you had. I’m at that point with losing my son.

And thank you for showing me that The Lounge would have been the place for me to have talked about that loss.
Thank you my friend. A Northfield Stag every day for the month can't be a bad thing ! 😊

I think it was too my friend. Won't be too long before you're planting seeds, I expect. 😊

Thank you J.J. 😊

It is rare to see and I really like a clip on just about anything. 😊
Yessir. Guess I’d better set up my little rack and grow lights pretty soon!

What does the box call the 2nd one? I’d guess a whittler? Super knives, my friend!
Starting the day with ol' 496 again. Pool this afternoon and then poker later this evening 🎱♣️♠️♥️♦️Life is good :D

Hey! I can do that too!94FAFC31-1F09-4D11-959A-A693DE1B9E49.jpeg
Totin a SW 879, and one of my rescues, a Kutmaster linesman/electrician. Previous owner had horribly sharpened the main, and “reshaped” the utility blade into a ridiculous spear point. I bought it just to fiddle around with, B1A2F5DC-9F5C-47D8-83DA-16AEF482128D.jpeg93E5268B-2829-4733-9D5A-3A102DE18A4F.jpeg

Nice fiddling.

Thank you
And I didn't know about your son. My belated condolences
And I don't know if the lounge is officially the place, but I knew there were folks that had gone thru what I was going thru
And it helped me

Nice fiddling.
Thanks, Jer. I only mentioed it in case someone might think I’d do that to a perfectly good TL-29. On the auction site, there are so many knives that have been abused, that there’s no need to play Dr. Frankenstein on a collectible knife.
Currently, I have a three line Camillus hawkbill that is getting a rehab.
How is it possible to run a grinder all up the side of a blade? Actually, what makes someone use a grinder to sharpen a knife, anyway? 🤡

Army or marine mortar man?

I was an air force security forces member
Or as I usually say to the civilians...AF military police

I also should take a moment to acknowledge Jakeywax31 Jakeywax31 here

Who not only reached out to check on me
Upgraded my account status JUST to do it discretely

And I think perhaps, that the rest of y'all should know he did that

Edit
I should perhaps take this to the lounge
But since it came up...imma share it here
