What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

A gray start here in the City by the Bay. Arthritic hands are a little stiff today so I’m going with my EO lambfoot. Today’s pic was taken from my bedroom window facing NW. You can see the Golden Gate on the right and the Pacific Ocean to the left. The giant construction crane is building a new dormitory at SF State.

Quickly becoming a favorite. 😎👍View attachment 2084776
Not hard to see why, it’s a great knife.
Took Coco out this morning and promptly took a fall. Some of you will recall that a couple years ago I had my jaw replaced with a piece of bone (fibula) out of my right leg - knee to ankle. Anyway, I think that God, as a reminder, knocks my leg out from under me sometimes just to get the point across that messing with his manufacturing process and OEM parts is nothing to be messed with. Well, this calls for a strong, supporting role, knife to carry today so I'm gonna carry this Scout Trapper - a gift from John @JohnDF . I don't know if John will see this as he doesn't come here much anymore but if you do see this John, - thanks. Oh, forgot to mention that while I was laying in the gravel, ole Coco stood by me and our doxie Utah came out through the doggie door and licked my face with gusto until Cindy could come out and help me up. Sausage, eggs-up, and raisin bread toasted soft for breakfast.

Yikes, hope you none the worse for wear after your fall Ed. Scout trapper looks great, I especially like the before and after pictures.
Great pair Jeremy. Hope the finger heals up in short order.
Thanks Paul, it will get there eventually.

I hope you're OK Ed. You'll probably be sore tomorrow. Be careful. I know at my age, even minor injuries seem to take a whole lot longer to get better than they used to.

Hopefully nothing serious from the fall

Getting close to finished on cleaning my newly arrived Cattaraugus Carpenter's Whittler.
I believe it is a decade or two newer than my other two.
I've managed to keep the blade etch intact, however, didn't manage to capture it in the pictures.
I put up the one I had in my watch pocket this morning and replaced it with this one. 😊

I think I will leave this one with the hand rubbed satin finished blades and bolsters ............ no patina.

That is a different view of San Francisco that I could see back in 1958 and 1959 when I was on a Radar Site straight up the mountain from the North end of the Golden Gate . Kind of enjoyed my time out there .

Thanks! On a clear day I can see the Farallón Islands which are about 25 miles due west of the coast. I also have a telescope 🔭 that I can see folks walking their dogs at Fort Funston and see crewmen walking the decks of the big cargo container ships.
Those clear days are nice! I know that view quite well...in fact I drove past that crane just the other day :) I envy your location not everyone gets a view like that.

Smashed my thumbnail before Christmas, creating a blood blister and separating the nail from the bed. That part has now come to toward the edge of the nail requiring the separated portion to be cut off. End result - pinchable only knives for a while until the nail grows back.

My morning coffee ritual (so sacred, that I roast my own beans) was interrupted by "Dad, the toilet won't flush". Thus, having to spend the next hour, running a power snake all the way to the septic tank. It turns out that the new fangled "septic safe, but good for the environment" TP, is not exactly septic safe. While I didn't need to carry these, I felt prepared and safe. You just never know what might come out of a drain these days.

Ouch!
Glad Cindy was there, Ed.

Just wait til your next doc appt when they ask the Medicare required questions ~
“Do you ever think about hurting yourself?”
No.
“Do you feel safe at home?” Yes.
“Have you fallen lately?” Well…
