Jon - Thanks it's Pomele wood. Beautiful, tight grained And it shimmers in the light. Nice smell too:)

I hope you let us know who won the race, the lizard or the knife?:)

It's the weekend, which means this one is in my pocket. Getting things cleaned up around here and ready to host a Derby party. Mint juleps for everyone!

Cheers,
Daniel

Nice Forge De Laguiole, how do you like the T12 steel?
I've been tempted to pick one of theirs up, with juniper and brushed steel bolsters.
But then I'll have three Laguioles, but Laguioles are a favorite of mine, you have a Rossignol also don't you?

Pete

Thanks Pete, this is one very sharp knife! The pull on it is somehow a tiny bit softer than the Rossignol, but of course, one must watch out for that final snap when closing! This is a hard one to get a good pic of because the tulipwood is so shiny.
Can one have too many Laguioles? :D

Sold :-)
Sorry one more question I know on the Rossignol the fly/bee is welded on the spring, on my En Aubrac it's forged from one piece of steel, how is it done on the Forge De Laguiole, there is a cutlery store about 45-60min away from me that sells them I've been meaning to go for some time now, you may have pushed me out the door :-)

Pete

Thanks, honestly, I've used my Rossignol with the welded bee for 13 years has never been a issue, and is one of my most solid users, I was just wondering Jwren and I have been discussing Laguioles via email for a while and he called a distributor to find out and gave him the answer of " they are made the way they have always been made " but didn't answer the question :-) might have to add one to the stable.

Going to a cookout today, could not decide what to bring, I went from Opi, to moose, to Boker congress, Laguiole and went back to the Opi as my finale decision.

And noticed my peanut is becoming pocket worn from 17 months of EDC

These two today. In reality, the SAK can do everything that I need a knife for on a day to day basis, but the Clauss is new and I really like the spear blade on it, as well as the bone.
