What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

That’s a good way to deal with having too many knives. (Did I just say… too many knives?😁)

Thank you Jeff and that brings up a very good question ...... how many is too many ? 😲 🤣🤣🤔🤔🤔...........
...........................🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔............................ I'll have to ask Mr. Jack the Knifeman and get back with you later. ;)😝
I don't have an assigned title like that, so I am pretty sure it's not me. 😊

I'm glad you are approaching the spring break. I always appreciated that one the most.
Be well.
Thanks, Bob; I always try to do the taxes during spring break.
Having spring break start in February seems to defeat the purpose of having the students available to help Pa get the spring fieldwork done!

Two good 'uns Gary 😎👍
Nice pair of canoes. If you don't mind me asking, "Why does the gunboat not make the list?"
Thanks, gents. :)
Frank, I have more than 50 canoes, so fewer than 20% can make the top ten. That means that a lot of fine knives didn't "make the cut" (no pun intended). And choosing a top ten for a category is VERY subjective. I'll bet if I chose my top ten canoes today, the list would differ from the one I constructed when I was putting together my knife rotation schedule.

I would have to agree

...

I do not rank my knives. I just know what I like.🤓
And I definitely LIKE that model of Vic!
I once had three, but gave one to a good gardener friend.
Thanks, guys. :)
When I first got the knife, I was a little disappointed that the blade (2.5") took up so little of the handle (4"). But the blade is a handy length for many jobs, and I like having a relatively long handle on a knife, whatever the blade length.:thumbsup::cool:

Gary, those two add up to a nice carry for anyone.
I appreciate your supportive attitude toward all us knife knots on The Porch, Bob. ;)

I have one of those Gary, useful knife :)

I agree, Jack; simple but effective knife.:cool::thumbsup:

Wasn't a bad trip yesterday until we were on the way home and hit very heavy snow about thirty miles out from Alturas and then it was very close to a white out all the way home. The doctor said everything looked good with no signs of the cancer returning. He set me up with checkups every four months which makes me feel better. Back to business, it looks like another day of shoveling which calls for a Sowbelly Stockman. This one should do nicely. Never know when ya might have to castrate a snow flake. Sausage, eggs up, and soft toasted raisin-cinnamon toast for breakfast.

Congrats on the good news on the medical front, ED!:cool::thumbsup:
I was going to ask you why shoveling called for a sowbelly stockman, one of my favorite patterns. But then you explained why, and I can't refute your logic! 😲😁

Attractive trapper! :cool::cool::thumbsup:
But another word on your dictionary page caught my eye. Did you realize that there are ongoing feuds between "two camps" of math folks about the correct definition of a trapezoid? o_O:eek: One group says a trapezoid is a quadrilateral with EXACTLY two parallel sides and the other group claims that a trapezoid is a quadrilateral with AT LEAST two parallel sides. Your dictionary seems to take an ambiguous position that either group could claim supports their position.

Two good 'uns Gary :)
Thanks Pat, I know a guy...;)

A couple of beauties you have there, GT.
Thanks, Jack and Jeremy. :)

Couple of interesting knives!:cool::thumbsup: I'm not a big fan of Barlows myself, but yours sure is classy!

Missed posting yesterday and most of today because , like Amir Fleschwund Amir Fleschwund , our electric power was out and for some strange reason , so was our Cable . We have a Cummins whole house generator so we had electric but no internet . We had Sleet , some snow , and some rain and build up of Ice on everything . Today I went out to check for any damage to trees . We had none but one of our neighbor's trees just missed our back building . Did what we could for our neighbors as well . I was trying to post a Stag Northfield every day in February . I carried 2 yesterday but just did not post them so I am carrying them again today .
Yesterday and today it was these 2 Stag Northfiled # 831115 and #835115 . The top knife in all of the photos was also carried day before yesterday .

Phenomenal stag duo, Harry!:cool::cool: I especially like the 83 with the drop point blade!

Still carrying this one, but less food preparation.
So the patina faded a little and the painting comes through again.

I have a bunch of canoes, but none of mine are single-bladed. Yours is very cool!:cool::thumbsup:

Pocketed these two RR's yesterday for thrifty thursday. Back in the pocket again today.

Great pair, Greg! I once bought a RR copperhead like yours (except it had gunstock checkered covers) at a gun and knife show. Eventually, I decided it was too big, and I gave it away. Later, I developed a taste for carrying more big knives, and regretted getting rid of the copperhead.:oops: On the other hand, I bought a whittler with spear main like yours and liked it so much that I bought another one!

Really underrated pattern…The big clip and secondary penc is a game changerView attachment 2093863
That's a marvelous 2-blade toothpick! :thumbsup::cool::cool::thumbsup:

No kinder words could be said Gary. Thank you.

That green. It looks lucky!

I think you may be right, thanks to DocJekl DocJekl for this one, a Muskrat is not a pattern that I often thought about getting but after a little touch up on the edge, the folder is becoming one of my go to knives and rides in my watch pocket lately. Very sharp, hollow ground blade cuts nicely!

If one follows just this thread and keeps up, it takes up quite a bit of time.🤣

I like that Primble quite a bit ..............🤔🤔 I think I have one similar to it somewhere.😍
That blade looks very similar to the blade on my NYKC Hammer Brand Serpentine Jack. 😊
Thanks I believe I’ve seen your Hammer Brand Serpentine Jack ~ You may be the guy to ask ~ who do you think made my Primble Belkbap? I have always leaned toward Schrade due to it’s appearing ifentical to their 294. And the peachseed looks Schradish…
But not sure. I WAS looking for a Schrade 294 when I saw this one.
Here we go again ! 🤣

How about The Knife Museum Catburglar?
Or should it be Cattburglar?😎

I couldn’t agree more on that model of Victorinox. It’s perfect.

I was asked to help out and take photos at a Ukranian peace rally in the heart of our ancient English city today,it was my pleasure to do so.

I had met some of them before, they are the nicest people.

All I carried was this Cadet.

We had rain, sun, cold and overcast, we reflected,we smiled,we where sombre at times.

The quiet strength and warmth these people display is something to behold.

😯 How many is to many?
A question that should never be answered, you folk have the option of pleading the 5th. We don't, I will stick with "I dunno" 😉
Stick to the easy questions like. What's the meaning of life?😂

This was waiting for me when I got home.

Victorinox Tourist Swiss Army Pocket Knife.

Its basically a 84mm version of the basic Spartan, it has all the same tools.
I added a small screwdriver and the pin,I now like the corkscrew as it has a lot of uses.
Its the same size but thicker than the Cadet and it fits in the pocket perfect.
Tommorow I will remove the key ring as they irritate me on the palm of my hand.

This is great to pair with another larger knife.
