What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Made a nice combo for Micarta Monday, but had to switch after lunch when my wife asked "Is your butt at all cold?" which was her way of informing me that my overalls had sprung a leak in the stern 😢. It comes with the turf riding bicycles everywhere ( I refuse to wear spandex).

Switched over to this fine pair, carried Tuesday as well because I had no time to fuss over knives that morning.

Great lineup FC! Love that Micarta trio. It makes my eyes happy 😃 . Still…my fixed blade envy runs deep. What is your preferred way to carry these beauties on your person?

Had a little time to make some osage shavings with the drawknife at the end of my work day. Had an osage covered 29 stockyard whittler in the pocket all day.

You are coming up with some fine treasure lately Mr. R. !😍

Travis .... love your 92 ! A long time ago on Blade Forums, there was a member that posted a knife like that regularly. I always loved it. His had really nice blade patina.😍

Thank you Mr P. Was in the low 50's here yesterday and pleasant enough for an outside pic. for a change. I've been doing inside pics for month now but spring win arrive here eventually, I hope.:)

Thanks Harry. My drawknife gets a lot of use, real handy for hogging wood off of osage bow staves. The shavings are from an osage staved seasoned 3 years, notice how yellow in color they are when freshly removed compared to the osage knife handle that's been exposed to air and light for a few years. Osage is an amazing wood, it also gets harder and more durable the longer it ages. I've worked some osage fence post with a drawknife that were cut in the 40's and it was almost like carving stone.:)

80 degrees was a bit too much here and looks like we are going to pay the price with high winds tomorrow.
I always look forward to spring, but, around here, anymore, it's like wishing for tornado season. 😊:(

I know what you are saying, concerning cutting osage orange. I once cut up a bunch of it for knife handles and sent a lot of it to Mark. I wore out two saw blades on it.
More burned and smoked than cut. 🤣

I’m going to try and stick with a 34ot for a while. I opt for nicer and older bone handle knives for good reason, but the 34ot can do all the same things and I don’t have to think twice about delrin handles.

An old bone beauty is never far away though.

Thrown a curveball this morning. As I was getting a drink on the way out the door to work, the refrigerator was smoking and smelled like burning. So, working from home while that is resolved (food/drinks went into deep freeze and coolers so that’s all good). Glad I grabbed that drink.

Changed to M&G Yankee Whittler and Case Peanut (this Peanut lived in bathroom medicine cabinet for many years now gets carried occasionally).
