What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Sensational 66, Paul!:cool::thumbsup: Is that the muskrat version (Mink Skinner)?

You are a silver-tongued devil, with a fine wood Böker, sir!:thumbsup:😁

Good call, Gary - it is indeed a Mink Skinner.
I find myself partial to the scaled down Muskrat / “California clip” blade profile … and this configuration has two of em!
😎
And thank you for the kind words!

Throwback Thursday with a buttonlock from The Arkansas Knifesmith, Jimmy Lile...best known for the Rambo I+II knives but his patented Lile Lock definitely deserves recognition as well. Really happy to have one of these in the collection, such a cool piece of history from a legend in the industry.

…Had spring break last week after 7 straight weeks of school with no interruptions. Now we're back to finish the semester before the end of April, but several stops and starts for "advising breaks", Good Friday/Easter, etc….

I think you're just illustrating a principle of physics, Jeff, but I'm not sure whether sticking with the same knives is an example of "momentum" or and example of "inertia". 🤓

I look at it as my own little pushback against entropy. Not in the strict Clausian sense, just looking for a sense of order and predictability, and fighting the gradual decline into disorder. 😗

Probably one of the reasons you submit yourself to a rigorous and highly formulated knife rotation schedule. I mean, besides the fact you like numbers ‘n sech.🤓

Hey! Speaking of rigorous schedules, you’re working an awful lotta hours for a prof. who’s already retired!

It didn't snow last night and it isn't snowing this morning so, we're off to town in a short while. I'll be totin Bunny Knife #525 in my keys pocket but am not sure which one of these two I'll carry. Most likely, as I like lower bolsters on a knife and the Buck 055 fills the bill in that regard, I'll carry the Buck. Having a cup of coffee but no breakfast this morning - saving room for chow at the Wagon Wheel Cafe.

Seeking order in a disordered world has me discarding the compulsion I had to swap knives every day. But you all make it difficult ~ I see a knife which I also have, and think “maybe I need to tote that one”.View attachment 2109795View attachment 2109796
Anyhow, these qualify for Thrifty Thursday.
I think that as we start going outside to do things , we have chosen certain knives to have in hand to use . I know that I have way more knives that I never USE than I do USE . When I am staying in the house , I have more time on my hands to Coon Finger and Chicken Eye knives . You have chosen some nice users for today Jeff .
