What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Sharpened the English Jack this morning and dropped it in my pocket.

A-1 trapper, Bart! Is that full-sized (4+ inches closed) or more like a mini trapper (3.5")?
What kind of geese do you have there? The only geese I ever see in the wild are Canada geese, which are definitely not the same as your white and black ones.

Thanks, Gary. Sorry for the delayed reply, I’ve been so busy I haven’t had much time to spend on the Forum. It’s a mini trapper, 3.5 inches. A full sized is bigger than I like to carry regularly. The geese are snow geese, which are the most common variety around here.

Miscellaneous Knife of the Week is a Klaas red bone mini canoe. (Looks like my list of miscellaneous knives is organized by pattern, at least to some extent. This is the third straight week that I'm showing a mini canoe as my miscellaneous knife, and, peeking ahead, I see that the next 3 weeks are also mini canoes. When I revise/update my rotation schedule, I think I'll shuffle the miscellaneous knives to break up those clusters of patterns, because after 3 more weeks it will be almost a year before I carry a mini canoe again! o_O  That ain't right!)

Lambsfoot of the Week is Cracker Jack, my Ashley's Choice stag lambsfoot from a 2018 Jack Black SFO:

I can't keep up with the threads lately, but have a good weekend and a happy Spring Break, to those who observe. ;)

Have to say, they did a darned good imitation of genuine Schrade Uncle Henry Staglon®️!
I’ll have the fish, please.
Great character in that Camillus/Sears equal end knife, Jeff. Lots to like about that one.:thumbsup:

Starting my day with this Case 7347 whittler.

I’m thinking about adding a Case Tiny Trapper to the group of smalls. Charlie, waynorth waynorth , it was funny hearing you reference the spey as a peanut butter blade (or spreader) in one of the podcasts (and thanks for doing them). That’s what I’ve always called it. I have no use for the original intent. Especially the hamster-sized spey on a tiny trapper.

This calendar is mostly sarcastic, yesterday was just true.

This #525 Bunny looks new but I've carried it in my pocket with the shown keys every day since I got it - just haven't used it for food, etc.. Will have to change that today. It's got plenty of nicks and dings in the covers and bolsters but no patina where it counts. Sausage and waffles for breakfast.

Wenger trivia ~ this one is identical to the Canyon, with it’s small clip, and spear main, with another layer holding a woodsaw.

Enjoy the day ~ they go too fast.
And don’t forget we change our clocks tonight!
Spring back an hour.

Here’s how you remember how it goes ~
If you’re walking down the trail, and a copperhead snake crosses in front of you, you SPRING BACK. And if you catch your foot on a tree root, you FALL FORWARD.

I must ask about the blade patina... How?
Mustard on a toothpick to create the negative spaces, then dipped in vinegar. Once that's done clean it up and use vinegar on a q-tip to add additional color and patterns.

Fun with OCD!

I was going for Birdseye here.PSX_20230311_102113.jpg
(Camera angle didn't catch main blade very well)
