What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Like Harry said, the knife show was great, and seeing each other even greater.

I did hand my phone to a nice lady so she could take a group photo of us porchsters, But I won’t post it on a public forum, at least until the Statute Of Limitations has run out.
🤣
As for the knives? Even though there were literally thousands and thousands for sale, it’s equally, if not more fun to get to handle the knives our friends brought to pass around.
At one point, I found Harry leaning over a display in which he’d spied three old Farmer’s Jacks, which turned out to be Schrade Cut Co. Unfortunately, they were not priced to $ell!
I did not get past the first booth without buying my limit of one. A Schrade made Craftsman version of a belt knife I’ve always wanted, the 165 Woodsman.View attachment 2129239

Woodsman's a nice find Jeff :)
Same to you, Jack. Hope you’ve been well, my friend 👍
Not a bad week thanks buddy :)
It turns out I have to work today, so I'll just keep my Old Friends Friday carry in my pocket again.

Great pic Rachel, sorry about the work :(
I've pocketed this jigged bone Catt for today, one of the two old sleeveboard whittlers I acquired at yesterdays blade show. I was on visual overload looking at the thousands of knives on display there, WOW! Best part was meeting a great bunch of new friends from this here porch. Harry, Jeff, Barrett, Neal, Jason, Todd and Paul. I really enjoyed hanging out and getting to know each of you personally. Breakfast, knife talk and viewing along with some good natured humor made my day, thanks fellas.:)

What a great bunch of guys :) Very handsome pick-ups there
Got up this morning to Mother Nature telling us that she was not done with us yet .

Today I am carrying the knife , after looking at a lot of knives , that I found yesterday at the Badger Blade Show . It is a Taylors Eye Witness Pruner that is likely not very old but in good shape and not carried very much . It , to me , is a very unique knife due to the Blade Orientation which has been shown a couple of years ago . It is an Advertising knife with the name COMET on one side of the blade and MASTABAR-ACCRINGTON on the other .
There was a Comet Belt Lacer sold by Mastabar Mining Equipment from Accrington , Lancashire , England .... Don't know the year that the belt lacer was sold , but I suspect that it may have been in the 1990's .

Maybe Jack Black Jack Black can put a little closer age to the knife . There was some conversation about this blade orientation in the past . This knife was made like this and is not because some metal has worn . It is not nearly old enough to be in the Old Knives thread .

Harry
Interesting find Harry  I would put it a little earlier than the 90's my friend, because, by then, there was virtually no mining industry here, and also, if you compare it to the knives I posted in the thread here, and specifically to this example (I have 2 of these), I think it's an older model, perhaps from the 1960's

Carrying my 33 in stag today. Really like this knife. The small form factor conceals a very substantial clip blade that is pleasantly functional.

Sorry I cannot share a pic. Take my word for it! My membership expired and recently I am completely unable to use or view anything on Imgur which has really degraded my bladeforums experience and probably accounts for me dragging my feet on my membership. I miss seeing everyone’s pics!

Went to the Badger Blade Show today and met up with Amir Fleschwund Amir Fleschwund , @btb01 , @Signalprick , @Jakeywax31 , @sunknife , @bigfish64 , and another good friend and had a Great Time . Nothing like spending some time with Like Minded Friends with the same bad habits , vices , and addictions . It also helps a fella of my age to be around a bunch of young fellers too . One of my yearly high times .Of course we can all quit anytime . ...... maybe.
I carried this small fixed blade Lon Humphrey today but NOT the 2019 BF knife .

I will try to get a photo tomorrow of the other knives that I took along for the Show & Tell CF & CE .

Harry

Any chance you have a group photo of you guys?

Hey! I’m glad you found a couple more to go along with the sleeveboatd you showed us! Very nice.
I have this schrade with me today. This is one of the knives I picked up in Janesville yesterday. Do you have an idea when it may have been made?

I see Bob answered already.

I got the same dates. Nice score!

But dadgummit! How did we miss the chance to meet you James?

Glad you approve of the Woodsman, Jack!
Usually, I have very little competition for the knives that suit my …”tastes”😁
That was the very first knife I picked up. I wasn’t sure because it was sheathed, but something made me take a look.
Any chance you have a group photo of you guys?
I will send you a Pm.
Sorry about your Brass Rail friend!

What an amazing find. Congrats and glad everyone deepen their friendships.

Maybe so, but my grandpa would be somewhere around 125 years old now, and he'd kick my butt from here to Pittsburgh if he ever found out I spent more than $2 on a pocket knife.:)

Looks and sounds like a great day.

A Brass Rail Restaurant buddy of ours passed away a couple of weeks ago and we're going to a "Bon Voyage" send off for him at the Brass Rail Restaurant this afternoon. He was a quiet, simple, guy so a simple knife will do for the occasion. Bunny #525 will sneak a ride in my keys pocket. Sausage and eggs up for breakfast.

A fine Woodsman Jeff ........ looks like you had a fine day. 😍 Elijah J. don't care how much I spend, as long as his food bowl stays full of gourmet cat food.🤣🐈‍⬛

You found a really good knife right there. The Catt Carpenters Whittler is one of my favorites to own or carry. I have three in that same configuration. The one you got is an early version too.😍
Should be stamped 32879 on the back of the main. 😊
