Looks like a beautiful loch you wondered upon Jack. Nice background for your lamb.๐Ÿ‘

On the positive side ......... it has some fine looking bone (including color), tight to the bolsters, appears to have all hammered pins, plus the Indian Trail jigging, plus the shield is in nice alignment.
I think it was a popular model for Cattaraugus. I think yours has to be nearly one hundred or older. I hope it has nice snap on all the blades (most Catts do) and that you give it some pocket time. It is really nice to see someone else post such a fine looking Carpenter's Whittler. Oops .............. now who's drooling ?     ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿคฃ

32879 is absolutely the model number for that knife ..... doesn't matter if the number disappeared with age or it might have never been on there to begin with. ;)

Stunning ! ๐Ÿ˜Š Just think of the stories it could tell if knives could talk. ;)
Thanks for nailing down the model number and age range, much appreciated. I new it was old but really had no idea how old. Main blade is a bit lazy in opening snap but good and snappy closing, I've flushed it several times and has improved some, secondly blades are good and snappy. I'll be carrying it for sure, something special about having a bit of history in the pocket.:)

Swapping out last week's bunch of knives for a different bunch this last week of March.
For the sixth straight week (and the last one), my Miscellaneous Knife of the Week is a mini canoe, this time an amber bone Rough Ryder.
Here's a photo from when the knife was almost new, late in 2020:

Just for fun, here's a 2023 photo of the same knife. Note that the shield has disappeared, I don't know where; looks like a tiny Chevy emblem might fit in there. Strangely, the bolsters appear to be "turning brass". I've had Rough Riders since 2014, and their nickel silver bolsters often turn yellowish, but can easily be restored by polishing with a sunshine cloth (or even just buffing on a pant leg). But this is the only knife I have that has bolster discoloration that looks brassy like this. I actually like the look and wish I knew what caused it; I'd be interested in doing whatever makes that happen to a few knives to get uniformly "brass" bolsters! (Thanks to Bob Rufus1949 Rufus1949 for the Sacagawea dollar.)

Lambsfoot of the Week is an A. Wright & Son senator pattern in stag that I won in a GAW from a BF member from Manchester, England. I call the knife Man Jack.

finishing out the week with the 56 on a fine Sunday morning โ€ฆ

I needed a small screwdriver late last night, and since the little Cadet was within reach and handled the job in style, it also earned a spot in my pocket today โ€ฆ as you can see, my selection process is very scientific.
