What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

A nice patina really makes that knife look good.

Interesting French friction folder!

Great shot with Hank down there! :D Did he think you had a treat?

Yep, it is. He was a bit of a character.

That’s a nice memory, Jeff. 🙂

Thanks, Harry. I’ve heard that before. My brother and I look a lot alike, too.

That’s a good looking knife with a great shield!
Thanks Barrett, Hank ALWAYS thinks we have treats😁

Arrived 03-10-23. Have not carried it yet ... which is driving me a little batty. usually a new knife goes into my pocket the day it arrives.
Other than one day (St. Pats Day), I have carried the Bunny every day of March (plus quite a few consecutive days between 01-10-23 and 03-31-23).
At any rate, the Bunny is going to get a well deserved rest, starting the afternoon of 03-31-23.
Switching to the Rough Ryder RR198 Smooth White Bone Barlow.

(small 8 inch keyboard. Not a daddy Barlow.)

I like the size of it too Mr. R. ...... measures just over 3 & 7/8" closed ...... and a rich history, from a company that Americans kept house with, in the late 1800's.

My old L.F. & C. coffee mill, which will still grind up coffee beans with no problems.

Wow...it's prettiness really pops when you present it from that perspective Mr.P.👍
GEC 92 in smooth camel bone.
That bone is perfect...very nice.

Great example of camel bone Pat. 👍
WWII Navy Rope Knife. Only sharpened once.😗
I’ve seen the lifeboat version which included a can opener for opening tins of drinking water and food in an inflatable raft…probably a good idea to not provide a pointy knife in inflatable life raft survival gear.
Totin the Schrade made Craftsman Whittler because Bob’s from yesterday reminded me that I should.View attachment 2136464
Jeff, love the guard duck protecting that fine pairing.😀

Ok, time to give kudos to Jakeywax31 aka Paul. He was at the knife show and found knives I have been searching for...low and behold he found two examples. Then he goes and gifts them to me. I have entered them in my drawer of appreciation.
Thank you Paul.
A Voos and OVB. Hibbard, Spencer& Bartlett.

How generous of Paul! 👍
Congratulations, the >voos> is a classic, and yours looks to have nice, full blades. You've prompted me to pocket mine today.

Hard to believe that your month of March with this cool Case is down to the final day!:cool::cool:

Last day! It has been a great month, but I am also excited to get something new in my pocket. Looks like it will be the GEC 35 cattleman unless something changes in the poll thread tonight.

After a month with the Case Texas Jack, a few observations:
1. It carries very well in any situation. Not heavy or too bulky.
2. I love the red bone colors, enough that I have tried finding others that match from the same time period. Beautiful covers. Fit and finish are also excellent on this Case.
3. For 95% of daily use tasks, this knife would be fine.
4. Easy to sharpen.
5. I prefer having some kind of wharncliffe, sheepsfoot, lambsfoot, etc. style blade available. This knife doesn’t have that.

Overall, very pleased with it and I am glad I got a chance to get more familiar with this one.
