Those yellow 61’s always grab my attention. Great pair you have there.

Finishing up the afternoon with a cigar watching the Masters on the back porch.

9 years ago this month, I ordered a set of 12 different Rough Rider patterns, all in amber jigged bone. My plan to get to know those knives, most of which were patterns new to me (since I really only knew the scout pattern), was to carry and use each one for a week, then switch to another. But 2 of the patterns messed up my plan because I couldn't get them out of my pocket after a week; each of them stayed in my pocket for a month instead because I was so enamored with the pattern. That was a surprise to me! Anyway, both of those RRs are on my carry schedule this week.
My first ever canoe (I now have more than 50 canoes):

My first ever sowbelly stockman (I now have a dozen of this pattern, I think):

I likely can't pronounce it correctly, but I can clearly see that I love that Warthog covered folder ..... stunning ! Nice Bark River too ! 😍
Many thanks Mr P. The Warthog has been a great introduction into the Knife Stable, surprisingly good manners , housetrained too 😆

Don't have a phonetic alphabet to hand to help with the pronunciation but try ' Goot-ti-air' means guttering as in rainwater gutter due to the deep grooves in the bolster.

When I was a kid these were always around. Made by Camillus or more likely Klein tools since pops sold that brand. I remember the sheepsfoot, hawkbill and this one with the screwdriver. Figured it would be fun to own one again. Just a good, useful knife. This one seems like 1970s with the tang stamp.

Please give some details on that fixed blade! That is nice!
My pleasure!
It's an LT Wright, Genesis model. This one is a convex grind in 3V and burgundy micarta. Well, it's actually natural micarta that they dye red twice. They call it double red. The Genesis is 9" OAL and with the right sheath, this thing can pull edc duty for me, no problem. I'm 6'1", 200lb.
I'm so impressed with their knives, I'm pretty certain they will be the only fixed blade knives I will buy from here on. With the exception of any future special editions of the Buck 117, I have a thing for Buck 117s. LoL!

An interesting character with good taste in knives ;) That is very cool JJ, I have noticed the name of the pattern before, but didn't see the etch on yours  It also has the G 'Crown' R mark too I see! :D It's a great-looking knife my friend :)
Thank you very much, Jack!!! Apparently the maker recently acquired machines, stamps, etc. from a company active in the 1930s. :)

That's very interesting JJ, there seems to be quite a bit of that kind of recycling goes on in France
I had these two with me today. :)
It seems to have been a while since you last pocketed those two beauties JJ, and it's great to see them again :) Absence makes the heart grow fonder
