What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I filled in a request with the first photo, it'll be at least until mid next week before I hear back from them.

Getting to the last of my chillis. The aji chilli are the only 1s I got a lot of this season. Probably due to lack of pollination, no bees. We had a varroa mite outbreak in the region last year, all hives in the red zone destroyed. It is still ongoing.

This arrived today, carried it for a few hours, until this happened :(

It's the new Case medium stockman with S35vn steel, must be hard as the blade just went 'snap' and that's all she wrote.

I put in a request to Case to get a replacement, hopefully they can act on it quickly

That's a bummer, Gary! Hope they resolve it quickly!

There are more likely others out there that will Crack in the same place too .

1095 for the win. 😉.

I hope all goes well with your claim.

Great choice :)
Thanks, Jack. Can’t go wrong with one of Charlie’s designs.
Love that photo Bart. 😎👍
Thanks, Todd. I should send you some beads for your slips 👍.
I always love seeing that one, Paul.
Thanks, Bart. I can’t help myself, but will try to not derail the Totin thread.

Too much, at least.🫣
Derail away. What goes better together than knives and veggies?
Dig the Ancient Barlow.
I’m curious how you cut the beads… Dremel? Small lathe?
Thanks, Jeff. I’m not always a fan of faux aging but I think it works on these knives. The bones were this size when I picked them up. I’ll generally clean up the edges on a grinder/belt sander and drill them out with a drill press or on the lathe. Then I’ll put them on the lathe to shape/sand/polish.
I didn't want to start this nonsense already, but I had to fire up the weed whacker this morning.

Your wharncliffe trapper looks great.

Bags of character there :)
Kind of you to say, Jack🙂
Beautiful photos Jeff. Those two have such great character. 😎👍

Fantastic stag James. 😎👍
And thank you as well, my friend!🙂
That grouping of critters will certainly keep your eyes open and you on your toes when out in nature.
Nice looking greenhouse
Thanks, RL!
Learned something. Was not aware grapes were toxic to dogs.

Looks like the start of fun. I know your garden brings you peace and relaxation.
I did not know that either. I knew chocolate is bad for them, but I guess I’m glad Manny doesn’t mess with the wild grapes here.

That’s a perceptive thought about the garden. It is work, but the pleasant kind, and I need to keep busy.
Busy Saturday here! Attended my 6 yr old grandson's pine wood derby race. He won 3rd prize. Very cool!
Headed out to spend a few hours on 9 mile creek for a little trout fishing. Probably going to cast a few lures and see what happens. Gotta take advantage of the beautiful day, sunny and 83F high. Supposed to drop into the 50s and 60s, with rain, for a week.
Along for the adventure.

You’ve had a Hard To Top That kind of day, Gary🤙
Another beautiful day here in the City by the Bay. Looks like the fog may roll in early today 🤷. Just returned from my weekly pilgrimage to the grocery store. Took along the usual lamb and one of my older knives. I’ve had the Opinel since 1979 when it accompanied me on a backpacking trip to the Bridger-Teton Wilderness Area. It was in my pocket while I was sitting atop the Continental Divide. 😀

I’ll bet that was a great experience. I also backpacked some in the late ‘70s, and also bought an Opinel from one of the backpacking specialty catalogs then. Opinels were THE knife to have because of the light weight, I guess.

I’m sorry to hear that, Mitch. Nature can be a mean Mama.

I snipped out the last bit from your article ~

“Ms Elkins hoped this ongoing outbreak would make politicians rethink Australia's biosecurity policies and restrict imports into the country.

"If we could stop anybody bringing any kind of crap in here then we could actually increase the prices of all our beautiful food that we grow here," she said.

"Just keep all that damn other stuff out."”

That implies that the mite is an invasive species brought in on imported food. 😡

Just like the Emerald Ash Borer that came here on cheap wood crates and pallets filled with cheap products.

Hope they get it sorted out.

Yep sadly it came in through Newcastle port, last June.

nightshade plants like chilis or tomatos are self-pollinating, you can do this yourself with an electric toothbrush or cotton buds.
Bumblebees pollinate better than bees.
google is your friend, good luck :)

Cool pic  I have some cufflinks like that! :D
Nice Sheffield pairing Vince :)

Your two Saturday jacks pair up perfectly for a very nice weekend; they are also both wearing stunning stag covers!;)👍👍

Following in the footsteps of Jeff ( Amir Fleschwund Amir Fleschwund ,) I made my Saturday totes a couple of Schrades. :)
Many thanks my friend, superb pair of Saturday Schrades there, absolutely gorgeous

Have a great Sunday everyone :) I thought these two would put a spring in my step :)
