It is so full of junk (not just bluegrass - lots of Bermuda grass and false clover in there, among other things) that we decided that the long battle against the weeds wasn't worth it, we'd rather just have it gone. Most other stuff around here goes onto our compost pile.I like everything about this but your plans for that sod.
If you pile it up, grass side down, in a pile about 4x4, it will compost really fast. If you layer it with other stuff, it will compost into great soil/fertilizer/mulch.
Quick shot between rehearsal and service.

Excellent knife John. Beautiful jigging and I agree that’s a knife that can do just about anything. Great pattern! This knife pulled me down the rabbit hole. Small and unobtrusive at 3 1/8". Hides in your pocket with secondary pen providing enough width so it doesn't hide in your hand. Main blade my preferred shape to use. Jack configuration means no blade rub. CV steel takes a fine edge, chestnut bone is on point. Nice snap / halfstops on both blades, no hotspots. Tony designed a great little pocketknife. Not collab standards but pretty sweet for a production knife. Used to be widely available, my go to gift but they have dried up. Wish Case would revive this pattern in collab standards. If I need more knife, it's going to be a fixed blade. Have a great day!

Not much going on today. I'm kinda in a slump since the trash truck left.
My mouth is super sensitive this morning. Maybe watching NASCAR later with a cold ice tea will help.
I think he mostly hangs out in the Guardians thread these days.Where isJohnDF lately anyway? Hope he didn't get PO'ed at us.
Thank you sir! Except I don’t own it. I just exchanged some $ for the joy of being it’s custodian. I kind of feel that way about knives that are way older than ne.Your 124 looks like a great carry. Nice jigging and useful blade.![]()
I see. Probably smart. I try to get my compost piles to heat up high enough to kill the dandelion seeds. Sometimes it works. It is so full of junk (not just bluegrass - lots of Bermuda grass and false clover in there, among other things) that we decided that the long battle against the weeds wasn't worth it, we'd rather just have it gone. Most other stuff around here goes onto our compost pile.

Thanks, Steve! I think when it was made, the 194 was just a gleam in Daddy Schrade’s eye, to paraphrase a favorite saying of my Dad’s.Lovely 194 ! .![]()
Hope your Dad’s going to be ok, Jim.Made it back home last night from Dad’s. It was a long week, the last three days spent at 4 different appointments in 3 different hospitals in 2 different states. I had this Old Timer with me but it stayed in the console of the rental car the entire time as the SAK got all the work. I figured I’d carry it today. I did happen to hit my favorite cheese store to add about 10 pounds to my checked bag…View attachment 2162297
I had to chuckle at this. That’s exactly how Manny gets excited when I bag up the trash to take it out front. He gets to go out front! And on Tuesday evening, that’s special because when I take the cans out to the road, he gets to smell where the neighbor’s dogs get walked by our driveway. You probably don’t pee there like he does, though…Not much going on today. I'm kinda in a slump since the trash truck left. Gotta get some excitement going somehow. It'll have to wait though. My mouth is super sensitive this morning. Maybe watching NASCAR later with a cold ice tea will help. I've got this Scout Trapper a gift from JohnJohnDF out today.

Thanks Jeff, at this point it’s really up to him to be disciplined enough to follow what the Dr’s said. Given that we shall see. I’m headed back in a couple months for a wedding. I may take a month off depending on where he’s at by then.Hope your Dad’s going to be ok, Jim.
