What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Finishing up the tale of woe regarding my broken sheepsfoot blade of S35vn, as I had mentioned Case did send me that form right away and was emailed back, but no word from them for several days, so during a conversation with one of the dealers on the forum they told me if I did not get it resolved by Case right away, they would help and replace the damaged one as that was where I bought it. But I waited a few days to give Case the opportunity to respond back, after several days I decided to take the dealer up on his offer and sent the knife back to them and they'd take it from there. Today I got the replacement from them and the blades do fall shut without smacking into each other, although the spey blade has a lazy return due to the closeness of the sheepsfoot, it does go into the frame.

I took a diamond sharpening stone to the kick of the sheepsfoot to get it to go lower into the frame, similar to other Stockmans I've owned, I just like a more trim looking folder, here's some before and after images

You can see how high up the sheepsfoot blade is and you can see the bevel through the notch of the clip point blade

opposite side with the spey blade opened, you can see the edge and tip of the sheepsfoot blade, again it is very unlikely that it could end up cutting while using, but, anything is possible

after filing down the kick of the sheepsfoot the blade sets lower into the frame, the edge bevel is no longer in view

kick before grinding, and the metal seemed fairly hard as it took a while to grind it down by hand with the diamond stone, 240 grit

and showing the amount removed

All in all it's a very nice folder, glad to have it back again

A handsome group of Buffalo Horns Gary. You kinda scared me off of them with your observations ........... but maybe not. 🤔🤔🤔:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:😍
Now you need a buffalo horn fixed blade to round it off. ;)😊
I believe in the before pic, that sheep might have tried to bite your palm when you had the main opened. I have had a few in my time that wanted to do that.

Thanks, I'm liking these quite a bit, there is one more but it's a larger version and I think the backpocket is the one large that I need, so these are it for now...until they come out with a Seahorse maybe ;)

Just beautiful as usual, Mr. P!
The bone on that Case is stunning.
😍

Gonna be hard to improve on that pair, Jon …
👍🏼👍🏼
The micarta looks really deep - did you buff it out?
Yessir. Sanded it with 800/1000/1200/1500/2000 and buffed with flitz. I’ve been surprised at how long it has held up with as much as I have carried it. Only takes a bit of flitz to bring it back around. Makes a world of difference to me.

Spent today on a ranch north of Laredo. This is an arid area transitioning into true desert. Long ago, it was known as The Wild Horse Desert. Like many desert areas, it is harsh living, yet beautiful. It still is a very wild area. With spring rains beginning, the cacti are beginning to flower. A few more days and they should fully open. The Case Bullnose is 4”+ closed for size reference of these beautiful flowers.

Fantastic photos gents
Thanks, Jack.
Beautiful photos Bart, looks like it was a great time with the family. 😎👍
Thanks, Todd. Lots of fun. Cave exploring always gets the kids excited to go for a hike.
These two for me today. Loving the Lamb and the Case was a bit of a grail chase for me. 😎👍View attachment 2163242
Too cold this morning for a turtle picture but I took this one last week. 😄View attachment 2163244
That sawcut Case is very nice. I can’t believe I didn’t go for any of those Case barlows when they were available.
Busy with work, playing a lot of cornhole, and just taking a break from the forum... mostly just check and post in the Guardian's thread.
General knife prices, "a certain brand's" availability, and recent quality issues with Case have me a lot less interested in collecting these days.
I haven’t been acquiring much lately but I’m still enthusiast-ing.
If it were up to me, all golf courses would revert to pasture.
I totally agree. I eat meat a lot more frequently than I play or watch golf.
