What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Nice pair of knives. But that Case Barlow is sweeeeeeeeet! 🤠 Good to see the turtles!
Thanks, it was worth waiting for. 😎👍
The turtles first came out a few weeks ago but it gets warm and then cools off again, so they are in and out every few days. 😄

Jon Jon0385 Jon0385 You're going where a sailor belongs - "at Sea" . The only drawback is time away from family but it makes time with family all that more important and pleasing when together again after a cruise. "Fair Winds and Following Seas" Chief. Where do you pick your ship up?
I’ll meet it in Vallejo, CA where it is dry docked until august

The texture is fantastic being on a smaller knife and the blasted blade is nice, it's not so shiny. I know what you mean about shiny, it's just that I rotate knives so often I can't get a patina going! 😂 Honestly, I love it! It seems to be the one I reach for the most in my Boker drawer.

Ya, I love my Expeditions. Mine get little use for multiple reasons, one the same as yours.

Didn't get enough sleep, already tired from errands, just lounging in front of the computer this afternoon with a Club to keep me company.

Just a wonderful grouping Gordon.👍🏻

A wonderful grouping Gordon.👍🏻

I must admit, when this little TEW spey came in I was a little bummed out by its size. I have come around to liking it a lot. It's small but formidable. Like a chihuahua that thinks it's a pitbull. I have pretty much been addicted to single spey blade knives recently. Got the Charlie lamb in tote as well.

Book was a surprise gift from my buddy Rufus1949 Rufus1949 . Thank you, Bob. Happy to call you my friend.

Finishing up the tale of woe regarding my broken sheepsfoot blade of S35vn, as I had mentioned Case did send me that form right away and was emailed back, but no word from them for several days, so during a conversation with one of the dealers on the forum they told me if I did not get it resolved by Case right away, they would help and replace the damaged one as that was where I bought it. But I waited a few days to give Case the opportunity to respond back, after several days I decided to take the dealer up on his offer and sent the knife back to them and they'd take it from there. Today I got the replacement from them and the blades do fall shut without smacking into each other, although the spey blade has a lazy return due to the closeness of the sheepsfoot, it does go into the frame.

I took a diamond sharpening stone to the kick of the sheepsfoot to get it to go lower into the frame, similar to other Stockmans I've owned, I just like a more trim looking folder, here's some before and after images

You can see how high up the sheepsfoot blade is and you can see the bevel through the notch of the clip point blade

opposite side with the spey blade opened, you can see the edge and tip of the sheepsfoot blade, again it is very unlikely that it could end up cutting while using, but, anything is possible

after filing down the kick of the sheepsfoot the blade sets lower into the frame, the edge bevel is no longer in view

kick before grinding, and the metal seemed fairly hard as it took a while to grind it down by hand with the diamond stone, 240 grit

and showing the amount removed

All in all it's a very nice folder, glad to have it back again
