What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I was thinking more along the lines of "deep pockets" ............... somehow you've made me feel light as a feather for Friday !      😍🤣
I balance them out between left and right pockets and belt, so I don’t walk in circles.
Just wait till next Friday 👌🏼
We have Black Friday, Friends Friday, Favorites Friday, and now Featherweight Friday?
Yes, that could work. 👌
Thanks for the link to the present day 38s, Amir Fleschwund Amir Fleschwund
It is a Schrade…just as I found it. I need to do just a little maintenance on it. The blades are mostly full, but someone kinda botched the last sharpening. I’ll fix it up and post more presentable pics.
I don’t think I’ve seen that thread and will check it out. I’ve got a few to add as well 😉
As you scroll through all four pages of that thread, you’ll see some jawdroppers posted. There’s an older thread of FJs, but the forum search engine gave me the dreaded “Oop! We’ve run into some problems” message. When I get the time, I’ll manually scrolll back a bunch of pages to see if I can find it. Your Schrade would fit in there, and bump the thread up to page one again…
I look forward to seeing the results of your cleanup work, as well as any other Farmer’s Jacks in your collection.
With the three blades shown here I am ridiculously over-prepared for any cutting tasks that may come my way today. Bad pic is in my truck while out running errands (well, parked, not running, during the pic). Not included in this pic are the two knife blades plus scissors plus orange peeler on the Minichamp on my keychain, or the lambsfoot on my desk that I was fidgeting with most of the day. Come at, packages-to-be-opened or apples-to-be-peeled, I am extremely ready.

Yes, you are ready, Tyson. 🤙
A keychain SAK is a must.

There may not be a better knife.
Relaxing photo, Vince.
I often think the same thing when I carry one of my Opinels. But then I usually think the same about my daily choice. Whatever it is. 🤔
Farmers Jack Friday and Lambfoot...

I would love to see some of you get a Farmer’s Jack Friday thing going!
Nice one from Lyle, Paul!
Dang. My pepper seeds haven’t even germinated in the trays yet.
Gorgeous Grohman, Dextar!

Good morning everyone....View attachment 2168826
Paul/Jakeyway31 strikes again.
He said someone wanted to trade for his Albers lamb, he thought and said no. I agreed with his action. Next thing I know, we are discussing a trade. The lamb came up and I said no. I sent 2 knives that can't be shown and he sent the one knife I wanted and shipped the lamb too!
I have a torn heart over this, but will respect his actions.
Both knives have to be seen in person to be appreciated.
( he did get an Albers in another deal😃).
Hope this was not too convoluted.
Thanks Paul.
That’s a fine little story, Bob. I’ve been blessed to be on the receiving end of Porch generosity and kindness ~ including from you ~ and it’s a humbling experience indeed.

I have been collecting knives for ten years now, and in the beginning I had serious FOMO, but now I have slowed down a lot and use a new knife for a couple of months. This one will be in the pocket for awhile. I take a lot of pictures on this stump. Even in the winter the snow melts on it and it stays green for most of the year.

Very nice choices for your walk. I still think the shotgun is a good idea, though.
Some of the neighbors have spotted a large male coyote prowling their backyards in broad daylight. I don’t know what’s going on with him, but I’m surprised he hasn’t been shot yet. One lady thought it was a wolf. But they’re freaking out over it.
I’ve been strapping on a gun when I’m working outside, but so far, all it’s done is kind of get in the way.
I do keep an eye on Manny when he goes out at night…

Off to cheer on my daughter at the annual Special Olympics Bocce Ball tournament, so no sidearms, or big belt knives today.

She may not be much of what some would call an athlete, but she sure has fun.

Nice Saturday carries Jeff.
That should be true intent of any sport.
I wish her success and great fun.👍🏻🏆

That moss is beautiful!
Slowing down on the “more, more, more” is where I’m at, too. Lots to appreciate in the few I already have.

On third think, I believe I will go with these two. They don't get carried as much as they should.

I'll go back to Bunny N°291 and the Case Canoe later ... mebby at the start of bunny/hare season ...
A better shot of the Case to show/display the Damascus a bit more. I really need to stop taking pictures when there no sunshine.
The bone stag looks more Medtr Blue, as well.

According to the box, she was born on 10/07/15.

sorry to reply a content posted days ago, but the sky and clouds look like a typical day in the UK to me:D
I lived over there for a few years, and have to agree… the day in this picture was a very UK-feeling one. Not a bad thing, I’m just ready for the summer 😅

That is camel bone and the dye is slightly different color. These are more translucent and are cow bone. Take a look at this video around the 8:10 mark. This GEC produced knife has handles that look exactly like the SFA 56. i can really see it when the light hits the handles.
Thanks for that additional info. Love that 56 of yours! 👍🏻

And, now that I’m in an orange bone mood, I’ll be totin’ this today…

That's certainly worth looking into GT.
If you find a toy trash truck you like, maybe you can build a dumpster at the appropriate scale, and have trash pick-up day as often as you want! 🤓

Thanks Gary.
I would always invite the 2 Luey to try it first.
I admire your wisdom, Bob!😲

A grand pair my friend.
I appreciate your encouragement, Paul. :)

No they didn’t Gary, in fact, they told me not long ago that I could let them go and take the turtle enclosure down. I don’t really want to do that, I still enjoy taking care of them and they still ask about them. 😉👍
Best of both worlds! :cool::cool:🤓
