What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Nice write up🤙
When I was hunting for a Schrade 294 Serpentine Jack ~ the one with the long Sabre Clip and pen ~ I accidentally bought a non-USA made model. The seller’s photos somehow evaded the clues, but on close inspection, I saw the faint blade etch saying “70tg Anniversary” meaning it was made after Schrade USA had gone belly up ~ End Of Days. That and the lack of USA on the tang stamp means it was made in China.
I was mad at myself, and have never used it. 🤡 But I should. It’s really well made, with jigged bone, although the shield is missing.

Maybe those gloomy clouds will open up, and help keep that pasture green.
Do you guys put up any hay, or is it all for grazing?

Bart answered you, but here’s my way:
~Take the photo with my Iphone
~Edit it in the phone’s photo edit function
~ The Forum has a 1MB limit, so it has to be re-sized. I use an app called Resize Image. It’s real easy ~ tap the left button which brings up your photos. Tap on the one you want, hit the next button over, select 1MB, the hit the fourth button from the left to save the resized pic in your photo album. Done. When you open up your photo album, delete the original that’s too big for the Forum.
Then , on the message screen here, select the link on the bottom left ~ the paper clip Attach files…select photo album, tap on the photo(s) you want, and hit “Add”.
The will load in the message box. Press Insert, then Full Image, and yer done.View attachment 2175599

Golfing/betting for knife money!

What’s in your garden, Bob? Food, flowers, or both?

I would love to see that as a tang stamp. But I suspect the tooling would be rather expensive.

Thank you kindly, sir!
It sounds like you’ve really done some serious landscaping. In spite of it being quitw exhausting, it’s hard to beat the looks of stonework.

Yes, seeing the other folks knives can inspire me to pull out a neglected knife.
Glorious day on the course.
We have flowers, tomatoes, zucchini, squash and lettuce.
Have a good one Jeff

Fine stuff Friday. After years of wanting, landed this grail. Headed to PT, have a great day!

Wait. You post Fine Stuff everyday, John!
Watches, knives…👏

Congrats on acquiring a Grail.
Hope the PT goes well!

Having been on the receiving end of @Chief’s generosity (among many others), the Famous Porch Brother/Sisterhood Spirit Of Generosity has struck again.

This time it was Leslie Tomville Leslie Tomville who very kindly ordered the new GEC for me, and had his dealer ship it to me. As we learn in The Good Book, BETTER THAN I DESERVE. 625E1938-9951-471B-95B0-C17130312E77.jpeg3471393B-9CA3-4CB0-8A8F-ED62675C6C09.jpeg145540BD-D1DB-46AE-A511-7CBA061C9564.jpeg
Great fit and finish, lovely Cocobolo, and the snap on the big blade is almost musical.
Maiden voyage in my Wranglers.
Thank you, Greg! 🙌

Since my visit to the dentist yesterday my teeth are all sparkly - all eight of them. Rainy day so we're staying home today. I saw hamburger on the counter this morning so, it looks like hamburger patties with, onions, mushrooms, and mashed potatoes with dark gravy for dinner. A rainy day deserves something bright so, this red Case Sod Buster Jr. will do.

Nice Jeff!!! I usually don't carry this big as I'm pretty much a petite kinda guy 😁 I love this knife, carry's really well and I love the sheepfoot/s blade. I mentioned to someone that it's the sharpest wire scrapper I've come across and that's not a bad thing at all. The main closes with authority...just a very STOUT, easy to carry Utility knife.

Agreed, Paul. Although I usually sharpen the utility blades on my TL-29s, I’ve never seen one come sharp from the factory like this one.
I am not an electrician or linesman outside of household stuff, but I find plenty of uses for that edge ~ scraping, smoothing out tool handles, even cutting cardboard ~ all the kinds of things that would trash, or even chip a tegular blade.
Nice wood there.🤙

FB/instagram etc. reality= the sun is out,I look great and nothing ever goes wrong 😆

Real reality I was given two chunks of wood last year that I can barely move, I didnt realise they where (Johnny) Rotten.

So been trying to get rid of them for ages I tried setting them alight,no go.
Then waited till the sun dried them out,its England it kept raining just after they started to dry.
Even my new saw is struggling to cut them,I removed 2 small bits which took ages and my hand is killing me.
Maybe I should put them on ebay? for sale rare wooden trunks first to see will buy 🤣🤣🤣

I also found I had left my favourite Army issue pliers outside in the rain and they had started to rust 🤭

Yep however old you get you still make mistakes. 😁

Still it’s chicken Kiev (showing support) and French fries for tea tonight and I’m still alive (just) 😁😁😁

That's an amazing jigging job, Todd! 😲:thumbsup:
What tool(s) did you use, and how did you plan the pattern of jigging?

Impressive knife, Will!:thumbsup::cool: The curved frame, barlow-like bolster, drop point blade, and dark stag are all very attractive features.

Couple of charismatic Cases, Rob!:cool::thumbsup:

I like all of these GEC #38s; their "toothpickiness" appeals to me!:cool::thumbsup:

Splendid pair of light-colored knives!:cool::cool:
I've always thought that Curry guy is an amazing player, but I think I've underestimated him!

Superb stockman, Jeff, and the stag rehandle looks fantastic!:thumbsup::cool:

Congrats on the new Opinel, and super job of "personalizing" it!:thumbsup::cool: I have experience with only the #6, #7, and #8 Opinels, and of that trio, the #7 is my favorite size.

Like that photo, Jeff. :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
When we moved into our house 38 years ago, the yard on the north side of the house along the alley was basically a scraggly grass slope with a trashy mulberry tree. Over the years, we've "landscaped" if quite a bit: turned most of it into a "butterfly garden", built a stone wall along the alley, installed stone steps leading from alley up to the sidewalk next to the house. We replaced the mulberry with a redbud that we liked a lot, but an ice storm killed it. We currently have a Juneberry in that spot, and that's a nice tree, too; just finished blossoming.

IMHO, that's a sublime knife, FBC!! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

I've always liked the looks of that model!:cool::thumbsup:
I finally bought one (Chinese model with a new shield design) a couple of months ago. I haven't used it very much so far (except for food prep), but I'm pleased with it. My only complaint is the sharp edges on the covers; I need to round those off.

That stag SBJr is super!:cool::cool: I like your photos on that "stump" whose colors match the color on the knife handles.

Desirable duo, Bob; I've been enjoying your run of Robesons!:thumbsup::cool:

Appealing colors on your sawcut Osage Orange TC, Rob!:thumbsup::cool:

What a fine carry Jeff ( and Paul). The shield is fantastic.
