What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

A Buck 301 made in 1992. That's before the Edge 2000 grind, so full flat ground blades.

Speaking of voracious vermin, do you have any experience taking on urban ground hogs (aka woodchucks aka whistle pigs)?

Compelling covers on your Case canoe!:cool::thumbsup:

Congrats!:cool::cool: I have a Buck stockman just like that that I think is a fine user.

Good wood, JJ, including the background!:cool::thumbsup: What's the story behind your Simmons Keen Kutter logo on the wood?

Splendid knife, Bart! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
Do the dogs get to ride the ATV sometimes, or do they just enjoy sitting on it while it's parked?

I always enjoy it when you pop your cork knife into this thread, José!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I'd dread getting on a bike if I had to take that Case jack all the way to Texas!:eek:;)

I have a former colleague who grew up in New Jersey; I think his town was not very far from Philadelphia. He said he and his friends, before they had driver's licenses, would occasionally ride their bikes to the Jersey shore, 55 miles one way. (They apparently had to turn around to head home almost as soon as they arrived at the shore.) Part of the journey was through the pine barrens, which he described as "eerily quiet" because there were no birds. (This was probably at least 45 years ago.) Isn't there also the threat of a New Jersey Devil in there?

Really like the grain on the wood of your rope knife, Jeff!:cool::thumbsup:

I enjoy your photos of your walks with Jack.:cool::thumbsup:
Sometimes finding the knives, and Jack, in your pics reminds me of the Where's Waldo book my daughter had 30 years ago. 🤓

According to some of the TV westerns I used to watch, the cattle ranchers and the sheepherders didn't always get along very well. I'm glad your cattle and lambs peacefully coexist, Steve! That's a superb pair!:cool::cool:

Couple of captivating classics, Paul; I really like the edge on your BF knife!:thumbsup::cool:

I'd enjoy the jubilant jigging on that 85 even if you showed it on a piece of notebook paper every day, Jon!:thumbsup::cool:

Looks like Iris has to show a LOT of patience with her human sometimes! 🤓:thumbsup:

I hope the injections do the trick!:)

Vince, I'm sure I watched plenty of TV in the '50s, but I don't remember much. Some vague memories of morning shows like Captain Kangaroo, Howdy Doody, and Romper Room (which I think was local) and Saturday cartoons like Mighty Mouse and Underdog, followed by "dramas" such as The Lone Ranger, Roy Rogers, and Sky King.
I don't think I saw a color TV show until sometime in the '70s.
I think 3 TV networks actually contributed to the nation being more "united" back then than it is now with so many "broadcast options".

Nice Buck, Case, and buxom lass, Jer!:cool::thumbsup:

Impressive vintage MAM, José! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Thanks for the confirmation about the nature of that post. :)
We rent a cottage on a lake for a couple of weeks each year, and I end up taking lots of knife photos on the dock.

Same to you, Tim! I'm glad you got one of those jigged bone Waynorth Cutlery lambsfoot knives.:thumbsup::cool:
I don't hyperventilate over them any more like I used to do when I'd see a photo when they were first released, but I still think they're one of the best-looking knife models I've ever seen!

Very guiet to this day. I don't fear the devil, as much as, the illegal hunters.
Kudo's to your friend for his biking adventures.

We all went out for a hike on a new-to-us trail this morning. I had the Case Trapper in my pocket, and (due to a specific request by my wife to "bring a big knife") the Saddle Mountain on my belt.

We did not need the "big knife" (no rabid coyotes, no rabid fellow hikers), but half a mile along or so, Whiskey got a foxtail wedged up his nose, so we had to hurry back to the truck and take him to the doggie ER. While we waited for that to get sorted (we love our vet ER, although I'd be really happy to never need to go there again), we took Lacey to hang out at a local dog park. We'll try that hike again another day.

I’ve been tinkering this morning. I got some Fiebings Pro Dye in Chocolate and have been cooking knives. I started with these three to test. The Buck and Remington were from the Giveaway Box. I’ve always wanted to experiment on them. I tossed the copperhead in there as well just to see if I could get a slightly unique look on the antique bone.

Then I got to the one I really wanted to work on. This red trapper was always a bit too one note for me. Hopefully the color holds. Straight into the pocket for some chores.

Those came out good! Did some of the knives have carbon blades? Would imagine something crazy happening to the color of the blade if it’s carbon steel, but haven’t seen or heard of anyone actually trying it

I have used it on old knives where it showed no effect on the blades or bolsters.

Those two sure look good together  Great Friday choices buddy :)
Thank you very much, Jack!!! :)
Still recovering from Bulgaria-lag here! :D Treating myself to a Double Lambsfoot Day! 🎉Have a great weekend everyone :)

I hope you had a Happy Double Lambsfoot Day on your first full day back home; those two marvelous beauties look awesome together, as well! :D:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

It’s a nice day, but overcast, so the sunshine is in my pocket. View attachment 2184397View attachment 2184398Little wirk day at church pulling weeds. Then I had to go buy a suit. Got a wedding party in Omaha, and Mrs Fleshwund says no tweed sportscoat over jeans, which has been my “dress up” outfit since giving all of my old suits to Salvation Army. Kinda spendy! Coulda bought some nice knives instead.

Columbine is blooming. Nice plant.View attachment 2184399
Omaha used to be a great city. It is where the bride and I met a little more than 34 years ago. Like most cities it has changed. Not for the better in a lot of areas. Suit means razor. Enjoy your time in Omaha.
