What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

The heavy patina with a nice crisp new edge; what a glorious photo!!

I'll need two fixed blades to mow the back lawn.

I'm not senile enough to need to name all my knives (or I'm too senile to think up that many names), but this Sabot tonneau has so much character.

Audrey Fleurot as the Lady of the Lake it ain't; it's more like Marie Dressler's Tugboat Annie.
I'll refer to it as Roughneck.

I usually carry a Classic in my watch pocket. It gets run through the washing machine pretty often, but that hasn't hurt it. :) The scissors & the tooth pick get used alot.
We're having similar experiences probably common among 58mm carriers. The toothpick and file are my most used tools followed by scissors. Laundry day has included a Classic on occasion but they came out of the wash with no discernable change except very clean. My Signature is a Classic minus tweezers but adds a pen. Works for me now that I rarely get a splinter. Have a great day.

Albers Jack and my new Miro Haso custom made Karelian Birch Nessmuk for Sunday. 😊 ⚔️

Wow ~ nice addition for your rotation, Rob. I coulda bought a nice custom knife instead of a new suit, but I had to please Mrs Fleschwund for Mothers Day…
Nice wood on that pair.

Homemade pasta. Nothing like it.

Watergate salad and jello make a nice combo. Ribeye and mushrooms in the smoker.

Every human has a mother, I was lucky to have a great one. Happy Mother's Day to them all.
Part of being a Man is knowing how to cook. I think you’ve got that nailed, John. 🤙

What kind of smoker do you have?

Nothing much happening today. Coco slipped and collapsed on the back stairs coming in the house last night. She's fighting a torn ACL and she's weak in the haunches. Too old for surgery so we're working with her the best we can. Minced sausage and eggs for breakfast and out to the yard for I don't know what yet. NASCAR later. It's a single blade Sowbelly day for sure.

You’re warming my heart with the loving care of that faithful friend, Ed. She looks so happy in that photo. 🥰
I've seen it called a side-sword and a machete del monte.

Serial numbers on blade and scabbard match.
Very much like some of the old Mauser bayonets.
For church today.

I carried the new-to-me Gerber mini-magnum tied up in a couple of socks, so as not to get any strange looks.
The slip is for those high tangs on the Crepester.
Sometimes, like potlucks and church picnics, a fixed blade or long bladed trapper is just the ticket.
I’ve never seen a sharp knife in a church kitchen, and I have been known to put an edge on using the bottom of a coffee mug, but it’s more fun to be prepared.
@5K Qs Thanks Gary for your kind comments !

Nice looking combo, Steve. Hope your weekend was nice.
Preparing to grill some angus. Knife name checks checks out.

Most of us here are blessed with enough knives that we have to waffle back and forth. But sometimes the choice is obvious. 🤙
Once again it is "TIME" to carry one of my GEC 09 Esquires, this one is in Rust Red jigged bone.

The 09 is one pattern I would love to see GEC make another run of, perhaps in Blue or Green bone with the same style of jigging.

I was wondering why they put that metal band around the middle of the bone until I zoomed in… need more coffee.
Thank you, GT. I've seen Caddyshack I-don't-know-how-many times, "which is nice".

I like this HJ a lot, there is a crack near the shield, I'm not too motivated to do anything about it.

If you ever do get motivated, you can stabilize the crack with super glue. All of the online luthier supply stores carry it in different grades, and the real thin stuff is used for things just like that in guitar building.
Super cheerful knife, Greg! I can’t make out the tang stamp, though. Who made it?
Nice Damascus.
Vic's handy, photogenic, inexpensive, little Signature is such a fine companion it could become my signature carry. ;)

Hmm. Scissoring the grass with two knives? My knees hurt just thinking about it.

Gorgeous pair, Bob.
Two of my favorite things ~ a nice knife with patina, and black coffee makes a classic posed photo.
