What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

That Kutmaster linesman knife is a beauty, Rob!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
The other 2 knives also look great, but I don't know what I'd use them for. Do you think they'd work well for taking the stems out of fresh strawberries??

- GT

Thank you GT. :thumbsup::thumbsup:😊
I doubt the other two would help with de-stemming strawberries, but, I used the big Kabar MK2 Utility to slice up some potatoes and a roast I cooked last week. I would say that I have other knives that might have done it better/easier, but, not by much. ;)😊 The bayonet is not much good for using, just like it ....... might do good if a bear attacked me and I had no firearm. 🤣 🗡️

Good morning everyone. Off to a pro-am golf tourney; where several teams seem to forget how to keep score🤨View attachment 2189705

Your critter Lamb looks really nice all lit up Mr. R.😍

Back when I was a young golfer, occasionally a Circuit Judge would join our foursome. He never scored worse than a bogey. Not much anybody would object ...... everyone knew he was a poor golfer and had considerable influence ................ or worse ..... could jail them.

When he got to bogey ..... he picked his ball up and put it in his pocket. One day ...... when I feeling a bit courageous, I mentioned to him that he hadn't even made the green before he picked his ball up. He replied "That's my handicap ..... shut up !" 🤬😖 He usually finished 18 holes about 17 over par ....... according to his score card.🤣

That's a good working pair Jeff !
Apreciate that, my friend.😉
These are out of production, but you can still find them in fishing gear shops in smaller towns around Denmark, but you have to ask for them, and they will get out a small box from under the desk for you with the last of them they have.

It’s a Loewenmesser 1040 in carbon steel, very thin behind the edge and sharper than the devils tongue. It’s was the smallest of 3 sizes, the other two sizes are still in production.

Worthy of the search. Harry, Old Engineer Old Engineer , gave me a Loewenmesser that’s a lovely knife.

I don’t remember seeing that Tidiute before. Is it new-to-you? it’s a nice rendition of what may be my favorite Schrade pattern, which no matter the blade configuration, they called Serpentine Jack.

Hope your little white ball flies true, and you win some knife money!

When I was growing up, one of our farm dogs got in a fight with a giant raccoon, and it was like you fear with Manny. The dog killed the raccoon, but it took the dog over a week to recover from her wounds.

Brave dog.
Yes, Manny has battle scars.
One night last year, I managed to separate him enough from a big boar so I could shoot it.

That’s a really nice gift! I collect them, but I only buy them used and from fleamarkets. The finish mostly aren’t perfect and they all seem to “lean” to the nailnick side when closed. But they’re good looking, sturdy, sharp and has amazing action.

Would be very interested to see your knife and hear your honest thoughts.

Haven’t been posting much lately, just way too busy with work. Fair amount of fieldwork (besides my report writing duties) and when I’m in field, I tend to carry these Case knives…tough, stainless and not too expensive…leatherwork by my dad (who did these pieces in last couple of years and he is now 87).32D9D471-8382-4596-86FF-8DAD6ECC6CAF.jpeg

Had these two with me today while I was doing some painting around the house.

Those two pair very nicely JJ :)
I read your Bulgaria reports, Jack - quite a holiday! :eek:o_O At least it looks like the weather was nice.🤓
Yes indeed my friend! :D The weather was nice, the view was good, my bed was very comfortable...and the rest was...interesting! :D I still find it hard to believe that I wasn't walking the streets of somewhere in a war-zone! ;)

Jack, I envy your memories! I remember very few episodes from my life, especially when I was quite young, and some of the events I DO remember can't possibly be true. o_O
Quite a vintage pair of knives!:thumbsup::cool:
Thanks buddy :) It is the same with my 3 daughters Gary, they don't seem to have any early memories, and the early memories my youngest daughter claims to have relate to events when she was only weeks old, and must be stories her older sisters have told her! :D

Hope everyone is having a good day :) Been a long one down at the market for me
