Barry who made that dogleg Trapper and is that giraffe bone for the scales?

T., the knife in question is a GEC made 48 pattern Dog Leg Trapper (single bl. 440C). I have had it customized with fossil elephant ivory and thorn & vine file work. Here's another photo of the back; hope you like it!

Thanks Sam!!! I still hold the opi you gave me as my by far favorite :)

I actually carried it with me on my day off last week :)

Its amazing how beatiful raw linseed oil makes wood when you give it a month to cure.

I resorted to Danish oil for my work knife. The least abtrusive urethane I am willing to put on a knife handle. At least it stays in the wood and not on top :)

Kevin

Well, you've made it your own, something which forms a different kind of attachment. I like mine too.

Agreed on Linseed oil, can't stand varnish type things!

Please explain this knife to me.

Woodrow, I'm glad you asked me that!

At the 2012 OKCA show, I was talking with Charlie Campagna about his "Real Harness Jack" line. I just happened to ask him if he had a cap lifter model (thinking of the 2011 BF knife), and to my astonishment, he answered that he just happened to have one! He told me that Bill Howard had called him when he was finishing up the HJ run to ask if he could use a cap lifter blade on an unfinished knife as he had run out of the punch blades. Long story, but the upside is that I ended up with two "Real Harness Jacks" and one that is an imposter.

The Opie #2 is perfect for tasks where using the Pemberton would be overkill (he said, jokingly).

:D

Dejà Vu all over again:

It seems the turtle enjoys one of my trails as much as I do!

(iPod camera again; the turtle and leaves are about right, if dull, but the knife's a mess....)

Today's traditional carry is a Hungarian fruit knife and a folding Damascus. Switched to these today after working on my wife's car. Not sure why.

That fly box is entirely too organized! Sick!!!

Nice lookin' caddis. Did you tie 'em? :0

Getting out to do a little fishin'. Now where'd I put that fly...

Notice the way I have the flies organized so when in a frantic frenzy trying to match the hatch, I'm almost guaranteed to fail. But wait... Ah. Here it is:

Seriously. That was the hot pattern last week. Fished dead slow and deep.
