What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I believe it’s a Medicare requirement that at least once a year we have to fill out that questionairre.
As I’ve gotten a bit… older, I’m starting to pause on that one question ~ “Do you feel safe at home?” Tripping on things, balancing on ladders, getting out of bed…

Now, dangit! Be careful you guys!
😆😂
I don't have to worry about getting old already have a stick😃
Does have advantages went the hardware the other day, had a 1.2m plywood tucked under the arm stick in the other hand. Late in the day so all the check outs closed except sevice desk which is up the other end but no signs( encourage you to use self checkout😈). Anyway this staff member comes rushing over & opens the register for us that was good of her👍

Was messing with our Garden Tractor yesterday, in the tractor shed, tripped over a trailer dolly and fell out the tractor shed door. Landed flat on the small of my back and shoulders. Sore and stiff as all get out today. Dang lucky I didn't break my tail bone. I've got this Crelicam Ebony Buck 055 on my belt in it's sheath but haven't got my pants on yet so technically, I not totin anything today - so far. Hash and eggs up for breakfast.

Must have been in the stars Ed. Glad you were not seriously hurt. I went backwards down the attic stairs yesterday.🤕

Knife for this weekend and through Monday. Unlikely to be needed, but it's out and with me.

For everyone in the "Falling Down" club - stay safe out there!

(Not being funny, I recently joined the club. It's way too easy to damage ourselves as we start to age.)
You guys knock that falling thing! Someone's gonna get hurt! (Really glad you're all doing okay - hope it stays that way.)

Spent most of the day using a Tree Root Exposer (they call it a "Rototiller", but don't be fooled). We planned on three passes over the yard, with raking up tree roots (and cutting them when the other end is still buried) between passes. The rental tool broke down about halfway through the second pass, and there were no more of them available, so we'll have to do the second half of this project later this week.

This pic shows: (top right) dirt before the Tree Root Exposer has been applied; (bottom right) first pass of the machine; (left) after first pass and my wife has cleared out most of the roots.

Had the Proper in my pocket and the 110 on my belt.

Thanks - first fall I've had that wasn't a younger days outdoors activity/ work/ stupid human trick, so a new experience for me. I'll be very happy to not have it happen again. Went down hard on gravel, was able to twist enough to do a sloppy PLF. Lower left leg took the brunt of the impact, some bruising on the left hip and back near the left shoulder. Have an appointment with my Doc Wednesday to check all the gravel rash and where the tendon bruised (I hope it's just bruising). Definitely could have been worse. Wee... That was fun... Have a nice trip, see ya next fall... yada yada yada. 🤪 Also need to look into insurance for camera gear.

Glad that you are okay Gordon . Growing old is not for the faint of heart . I do not know your age , but when we turned 80 we started to realize that it was time to stop doing some activities that we had always done and get our house ready for our ages . Have not regretted it .

Thanks - and it could have been much worse. Broken bone(s), head injury, etc...

Being able to recognize the age-related changes and modify behavior, living conditions and such, is a key component to living with less risk. Happy you were able to get your place setup, it helps.

Getting older definitely isn't easy. Sad thing is, I'm not that old yet (early '60s). A quarter + century ago a Flight Surgeon commented about me being a lot older than I looked. I chuckled (I always had looked younger than my age), then he said he wasn't joking, when he looked at my medical condition he said it was like looking at someone 20 + years older. In my mid '50s I started having problems my parents didn't get until their late '60s/ early '70s. If I follow their patterns I'll be lucky to hit 75. But I'm doing all I can to beat those odds. Trying to not do anything too risky, reduce stress, eat right, keep as active as I can...

And because pic thread, my colorful weekend carry with siblings (recycled pic).
