What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Should be fun.
I was going to get something of theirs with that handle, but the sheathes are a lot extra, so I was going to get their puukko with the wooden handle and the sheath included, but that would have been a lot like the carbon Marttiini Lynx Lumberjack I just bought.
The sheaths are very good Jer, but for that Skrama, since I don't really carry it around, the included plastic cover would have been quite sufficient 👍

Spent most of the day using a Tree Root Exposer (they call it a "Rototiller", but don't be fooled). We planned on three passes over the yard, with raking up tree roots (and cutting them when the other end is still buried) between passes. The rental tool broke down about halfway through the second pass, and there were no more of them available, so we'll have to do the second half of this project later this week.

This pic shows: (top right) dirt before the Tree Root Exposer has been applied; (bottom right) first pass of the machine; (left) after first pass and my wife has cleared out most of the roots.

Had the Proper in my pocket and the 110 on my belt.

When I first saw "tree root exposer" I thought of shovel. Looks like a lot of work. Looking forward to finished project photos.
Some BRK Bravo1 Mammoth tonight

New arrival or a collection piece? Beautiful knife
I sorta think about what Grandad would want. When he passed away he was 102. For 25 years I spoke to him weekly if not more often. He adored my daughters, as they were the only great grand children that would ever visit him, or even met him. He was gruff but said things that needed saying, but he also had a heart of gold and would give a fiend the shirt off his back if they needed it. He died 2 days before my daughter and I were leaving on a hunt in Idaho. We talked about it and I skipped the burial because he would rather be hunting versus attending his own funeral. My daughter filled her tag opening morning and said “Grandpa was giving her this one”. He and I saw Eye to eye on stuff like that. Ironically, since the day he’s been in the ground I am the only family member to have ever visited his grave. Life is good and he lived a good one.

knife content is the 34 OT in the photo is one he gave me a long time ago

Certainly sounds like he lived a good life. Awesome 34OT
Last fair update, I promise. My daughter did great today. She worked hard and learned a lot. We’re very proud of what she accomplished. I’m sure the bunny knife helped.😁

Congratulations to your daughter on her accomplishments and to you and your wife for supporting her along her journey.

When I'm surviving in a fetid swamp, I might wish I had a plastic sheath and handle on my new stainless Lynx Lumberjack!
Varusteleka will hear from me yet.

LOL! They're great knives Jer. Some of them hang a bit low because of the 'dangler' sheaths, and unfortunately there's no higher carry option. Not all the sheaths have danglers though, and I've seen quite a few custom sheath designs for them. If I was taking the Skrama out to the woods, I'd almost certainly have it in/on my pack, so the plastic sheath actually works better. The Mini Skrama sheath fits directly onto the belt, with no dangler, and can also be pocket carried 👍

Congratulations to your daughter!
Wonderful Wostenholms David :)
Thank you Jack.🤠
I was glad I had my hiking staff with me yesterday, as 500 yards from home, my left knee buckled. Not sure what the issue is, but I'm not sure I could have got back home without the stick!
Hope your knee heals up quick.
Thank you kindly JJ, I enjoyed some plinking yesterday, and it extended my time in the woods :)

That's my plan for today Rachel, probably going to be using the twin of your Pruner :)

Take care with your knee in the garden, Jack.
What are you growing?

I went all in on eggplants! Pic is from a couple months ago, and now it's starting to produce, but getting choked with weeds from the recent rains. I'll have it under control soon and should have enough 'aubergine' this summer to share with the neighbors. Maybe trade for their tomatoes.

I'll use the pruner this morning, and then carry my Johnny On The Spot for any weekend barbecues.

Thanks David, I think it's just wear and tear, but I've been having the same problem, occasionally, for the past few years

Thanks Rachel, I don't do a lot, apart from a few herbs, the only edibles I grow are blackberries, and they really don't take a lot of tending :)

I'd like to get some blackberries growing. An herb garden sounds nice, too. Most people around here grow tomatoes and peppers, but I don't seem to have luck with them. I went all-in on the eggplants because those and green beans seem to be the only thing I do manage to grow, and I got tired of green beans last year. 🤣
Nice Rachel, enjoy your day my friend :)
Thanks, Jack.

First harvest! I picked the little baby ones growing low to the ground, before 'possums and rats get to 'em. I'm hoping that makes the plants put out more blossoms. Plus a volunteer onion from the compost bin.🤠👍
