I love my GEC 97, but it was the dirtiest knife I've ever bought new. The action was so mushy that you could let go at about any point in the blade travel and it would just stop. But after rinsing a ton of gunk out of the action (hot water and Dawn dish soap) and then oiling it up, it has a great action. Clean up your Case thoroughly and you might find the same. The GEC stayed home after the picture, the SAK and Case are with me.

As a mildly interesting aside, the action on the Case is pretty rough and if the thumb presses the blade down a bit while open it does not come back. opening it feels like there is gravel in the pivot, oil has been applied. A few months ago I bought the same model which is just plain, a yellow sod buster jr. Wonderful action, smooth and springy and I just took for granted that there is nothing wrong with it. I think these are the only two case in my collection, for instance I have 9 Remington knives. I will think twice before buying another Case without being able to handle it.
Cheers,

3 blade shapes for the win! The 48 is a gem. I had one in jigged bone that would have been a keeper if it would have had a touch stronger pull. The Bloodwood is such a classic look.
Yessir!!! Well done! I’m sure it was a great night!
Lovin’ that 48, Paul.
Thank you Jon, likewise!!The Kroo’s are just stunning Bob!. Well done on the selection of these.
I chuckle at your wife’s whimsical love of her frogs. Very fun.

I’d like to make it out there.View attachment 2203888
I've never been. Should rectify that
Warm Springs Ranch is where the Clydesdales are raised. Pretty neat place to visit too. Have to book in advance though. I was there in 2015.
I'm the one in the hat
