What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks buddy, that's a nicely-matched Sunday pair :)

Poor health, a negative prognosis, and a poor quality of life beckoned DirtDawg Bella down the trail to the other side yesterday morning. May she rest in peace. My little trail buddy will be sorely missed, but I will cherish the memories of the past 13-1/2 years of her companionship. I hope it's true that all dogs go to Heaven.

So sorry for your loss, and do hang on to those memories.
I hope you have a fantastic summer vacation! It's certainly starting off with a bang with that sublime GEC lambsfoot!:thumbsup::cool:

I had no idea that wild boar piglets had that type of markings on their hides! 😲 They remind me of the 13-line ground squirrels we have where I live. Thanks for the calendar page, Will!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I didn't realize that asparagus could grow for decades! I don't think I even knew that it was a perennial. Best wishes that your new bed gets off to a good start.:cool::thumbsup:

3 handy and handsome working knives!:cool::thumbsup:

Congrats on picking up one of those memorable Swayback Jacks, Tim; outstanding knife!:cool::cool:

Mike, there are folks here who almost invariably post photos of amazing quality, but you can count on me to do my part to keep the average picture quality from getting too high.🤓

Wow! IMHO, a Buck 110 is WAY more appealing with a drop point blade! Yours is a beauty, ED!:thumbsup::cool:

Such a classic jackknife pattern, and phenomenal jigging!:thumbsup::cool:

Dashing dark duo for Black Friday, Steve!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
I'm usually not a fan of clip blades, but your black Stallion is superb!
(When I was a kid, I read a bunch of books written by Walter Farley about a Black Stallion. Those were exciting reads!)

The jigging on your Swayback Jack is sensational!:cool::thumbsup:

Congrats on that supreme Case stockman, and accolades to ED for his thoughtful generosity!:cool::thumbsup:

FWIW, I have a Kingston cattle knife with USA tang stamp that appears in their 1947 catalog, but it's obviously not the same as David's.

I see England, I see France.
Bob has fine knives in his pants! 🤓:thumbsup:

Thanks, Jack. :)
2 fine carries for you, and I appreciate how you've joined Alan @joeradza and Jeff @black mamba in the seashell pics club!:thumbsup:🤓

Thanks for the info Gary and the chuckle.
Have a good one.
These two new faces today.

I wonder if these blades were left over blades from WW2 knife production. I know Kingston made some for the Army.

I'm so sorry to hear this. It's so hard to lose a good dog. Take care and grieve well.

Awesome knives and background. What wood are the scales on the lamb made from and the background wood?
Thanks!

Spalted red oak. We have some family property above Chattanooga and I was hunting some spalted wood up there. A bunch of trees had been blown over in a storm and this particular stump was a perfect ripeness of spalting. I got several cutting boards and other little small projects out of it.

I am not sure if they will be toted the rest of June. I might swap the 82 out for a 141122 Barlow later in the month.

It was tempting to go with my Douk Douk-ish Marbles MR139, (440A blade) but decided to hold off until I get a real Douk Douk (with carbon steel blade) and a Higon no Gamai. (either 120, 110, or 100mm, with Blue paper steel blade.)
I decided I don't want to carry stainless for a while. Call me "crazy" for that iffin you so desire. I won't deny it.
(Better "crazy" than "insane". If "insane" they can lock you up, and worse, take away your cutlery, archery, and black powder arms. That'd be worse than "dead" and/or "hell" or "Hades" (location, not deity) IMHO.)

Thanks!

Lived in Dayton for a while in 93 while working in Soddy-Daisy. Love that area. Some good friends have land North of Soddy.
Beautiful grain to the wood.
