What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Poor health, a negative prognosis, and a poor quality of life beckoned DirtDawg Bella down the trail to the other side yesterday morning. May she rest in peace. My little trail buddy will be sorely missed, but I will cherish the memories of the past 13-1/2 years of her companionship. I hope it's true that all dogs go to Heaven.

Summer vacation starts today carry

I hope you have a fantastic summer vacation! It's certainly starting off with a bang with that sublime GEC lambsfoot!:thumbsup::cool:

This month: Villisika, Vildsvin, Wildboar piglets

I had no idea that wild boar piglets had that type of markings on their hides! 😲 They remind me of the 13-line ground squirrels we have where I live. Thanks for the calendar page, Will!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thank you, Gary! 10 days and counting. 🤨
I’ve been spending my days scooting down the garden paths on my butt putting out my tomatoes. Sun hat, of course, but I think the sun is helping bake the crap out of my lungs. And lots of water!
The asparagus is from a bed I put in 20 or 25 years ago, it does not produce very well, because some walnuts have grown up around it, and asparagus doesn’t like shade. I plan on cutting some down, but in the meantime, I put in another asparagus bed out front using seeds, and after a couple of years, when I can start cutting spears, it should produce well.
...
I didn't realize that asparagus could grow for decades! I don't think I even knew that it was a perennial. Best wishes that your new bed gets off to a good start.:cool::thumbsup:

Make it a great day, Porch Friends!
3 handy and handsome working knives!:cool::thumbsup:

This has been on my radar for quite some time. They just don't come around that often in CV. This one is from 2011. Thought I wanted a single blade, but think this was the right choice all along.
Tony Bose knew how to design a great knife. Case did a superb job on these. Fantastic walk & talk. Pulls are perfect. I noticed Tony's signature Pen blade shape that matches my Case/Bose Lockback Whittler.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Congrats on picking up one of those memorable Swayback Jacks, Tim; outstanding knife!:cool::cool:

2318pu for Friday
I snapped, like, 20 pictures of the silly thing this morning and not a one of them meets BF pic standards  Some of you guys are setting the bar awfully high.

Recycled pic.

Mike, there are folks here who almost invariably post photos of amazing quality, but you can count on me to do my part to keep the average picture quality from getting too high.🤓

Still on my Bunny #525 kick so when we go to town later, I'll be carrying that along with this Buck 110 with a drop point S30V BOS Heat Treat blade, nickel silver bolsters, and Crelicam Ebony covers. Bought it on a whim because it had a drop point blade. Cindy is fixing breakfast this morning. Whatever it's going to be it'll be good - no, great.

Wow! IMHO, a Buck 110 is WAY more appealing with a drop point blade! Yours is a beauty, ED!:thumbsup::cool:

78 today…

Such a classic jackknife pattern, and phenomenal jigging!:thumbsup::cool:

Dashing dark duo for Black Friday, Steve!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
I'm usually not a fan of clip blades, but your black Stallion is superb!
(When I was a kid, I read a bunch of books written by Walter Farley about a Black Stallion. Those were exciting reads!)

@Viper84 how's the edge holding on that GEC? Beeswax micarta looks great. Toting around this little swayback jack. Hope ya'll have a great weekend.

The jigging on your Swayback Jack is sensational!:cool::thumbsup:

What a way to start a weekend! My Postie just left this a little while ago. It’s an amazing gift from a true gentleman and Porch legend @Modoc ED. To say that I’m blown away by your generosity would be an understatement and then some! Ed, you’re right that I don’t have many stockman‘s and certainly one as beautiful as this. I will cherish it but more importantly your kindness is heartfelt. Thank you so much! 🙏View attachment 2205645
Congrats on that supreme Case stockman, and accolades to ED for his thoughtful generosity!:cool::thumbsup:

Cattle Knife tang stamped U.S.A. and a Camco Barlow

Strange, I just saw another knife with just USA stamped on tang. Person was claiming it was a Robeson.
FWIW, I have a Kingston cattle knife with USA tang stamp that appears in their 1947 catalog, but it's obviously not the same as David's.
