Great pairing Steve
Thanks for all the kind words GaryGlad you could use Big Rose to cut down thistles, Jack!My knives rarely do anything except food prep and occasional package opening.
Kudos to JJ for his thoughtful kindness; that's an impressive quartet of knives he sent your way, and interesting postcards!
Your bone WCLF and the black French pattern make an impressive pair!![]()
Thanks again my friendCouple of "instant classic" Barlows, Jack!![]()
Looking good Jon
Wow! You two really go for it!Some of you may recall that I rented and used a Tree Root Exposer ("rototiller") on my front yard last Saturday, until the dumb rental broke. Rented another one today (I actually think it was the exact same one, post-repair) and it worked great this time.
Here is the awful machine:

Here's my brilliant and plucky and lovely bride going after me to dig out roots and then rake them up:

Here's the pile of roots we removed in total (this isn't including the equally large pile from last week - this is just from today):

And here's the knives I have in my pocket now as I'm relaxing and getting ready to drink a little wine. We are trying to decide between sangiovese, tempranillo, malbec, and barbera grapes to plant, so that's about the only varietals we're drinking these days.

Sorry for your loss FrankPoor health, a negative prognosis, and a poor quality of life beckoned DirtDawg Bella down the trail to the other side yesterday morning. May she rest in peace. My little trail buddy will be sorely missed, but I will cherish the memories of the past 13-1/2 years of her companionship. I hope it's true that all dogs go to Heaven.
