Not much happening today. Rained like crazy yesterday and washed out part of our front driveway. Not serious - I'll have it fixed today. Think I'll hire a guy that does some work for me to do the shoveling. Anyway, I'm thinking this Schrade Fire & Ice Scout Trapper will handle anything that comes along. Sausage and eggs for breakfast.

I’ve been wanting to mow for awhile, but every time I walk through the yard, I see thousands of honeybees working over my clover flowers. I don’t know if they’re from my neighbor’s hives, or wild hives back in the woods, but I love having them and the bumblebees around because of their essential pollinating services. And globally, bees are struggling due to stupid overuse of pesticides, and other factors. I have my blade set high, so I’m leaving plenty of clover for them. And it is better for the grass.
While mowing, I shot some pictures of “wild” backyard food.It’s hard to see but there’s a two foot horseradish plant growing under this burning bush.
This is a two year old elderbery I started from a cutting at my friend’s berry farm.
When I get berries, I’ll get recipes from his wife. She makes medicinal syrups, etc.
The wild black raspberries are forming up. Won’t be long. And blackberries are blooming.pre-shower pocket dump. Got invited to a little cookout at some church friend’s lakefront home.
I think I’ll tote a belt knife to deal with meat.
My contribution is a blueberry pie
