What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

The 29 is a great pattern :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
Great get Paul! 29’s are a wonderful EDC. I know you will enjoy this one.
Glad to see you were able to pick up a 29, Paul — it’s a fantastic EDC! 👍🏻
Thanks fellas! The 29 pattern somehow escaped me when it was released (oh, that’s right - everything went straight to Hell right around that time … 🙄)
… at any rate, I’m really pleased to have discovered it now!
😁

I scooped this 29 Stockyard Whittler off the exchange recently and I couldn’t be more pleased!
The specs showed a closed length of 3–5/8”, but what I didn’t pick up on until I had it in hand was that it’s not a wedge type spring configuration … it has a dedicated spring for each blade. Which means it’s a solid little chunk of a pattern! Kinda like a scaled down version of the 54 Whittler … perfect for EDC.
A couple dozen strokes on the Sharpmaker, and it went straight in the pocket!

Perfect pocket partner Paul. Nice.👍🏻

Solid classic, Jim. I’m glad to see you totin it so often.
I’ve rotated my little guitar pick pocket carry, and have your wee 12 OT Jack on me every day. Such a great little knife.

Fished this camillus out of the turn in pile today. Needs a real edge but might be fun to keep in my pack.View attachment 2213158View attachment 2213159
Where do I find this “turn-in pile”? 😁

Your Camillus is from the last production runs before bankruptcy, and zooming in, I am thinking it has never been sharpened after leaving Camillus. Nice find!
New knife accompanied by a new slip made by a friend! Happy Friday everyone! 🍻

Nice! And a belated welcome to The Porch.

Be honest now, Paul. Holding that lovely Orchard Gem in your hand kinda makes you want to get outside, prune something, and get a little dirt under your fingernails?

Or maybe just fondle and coonfinger…😎
Today's wood wearing totes. :)
Among your fine collection, this old Ulster is my fave.
Well, the weekend is here; I hope all can enjoy it.View attachment 2213718
I hope you can enjoy it too, Bob. Especially if the air quality has improved.

But I couldn’t halp noticing the time stamp of your post. Geez, I thought I got up early!

What time is bedtime, Bob?

Beautiful Paul.
IT’s a good feeling when you make a spendy purchase and Buyer’s Remorse never rears it’s ugly little head.😄
Whatever comes along, you are gonna be able to deal with it. 🤙

One of the resident black snakes that live in the wood pile, heading the other direction. This one's about 5".

Hope the meat comes out just right, my friend.
Beautiful snake!
I have Garter Snakes here, which makes me very happy. There’s usually several fat and happy ones in and around one of the compost piles out back, and the other day, I stopped the dog from chasing a big one by the garden fence. Great rodent control!🤙

All three of these knives were kind gifts from folks here! 🥰
So, I have three bags of sunflower seeds ~ Black Russian, Henry Wilde, and Autumn Beauty. I try to get them going, but with so much shade around, it’s hard. They’d grow great in the garden, but then they’d be shading my vegetables.
Chipmunks swipe sunflower seeds that the birds have spilled, and plant them for me in my garden. As long as they aren’t going to shade my tomatoes and other stuff, I let them grow.
The chipmunks have more succes than I do with my fancy heirloom varieties..31324EBD-243B-4AC1-9CEC-939F70FF981B.jpeg

As others have said, it's a great pattern and you got one with nice stag. Congrats!

For me today:

I've already showed all my "rotating knives" for this week with a day to spare, so I have time to post my "quotidian quartet" today.

I always enjoy seeing the Fantastic Four.

Not much happening today. Rained like crazy yesterday and washed out part of our front driveway. Not serious - I'll have it fixed today. Think I'll hire a guy that does some work for me to do the shoveling. Anyway, I'm thinking this Schrade Fire & Ice Scout Trapper will handle anything that comes along. Sausage and eggs for breakfast.
