• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Simply elegant jackknife, Greg.
I’ll bet the handles feel silky smooth in your hand.
I realy like this era of Schrade Walden knives with the jigged delrin. By any chance is that a 233 Jack?

Same model as L Leslie Tomville’s ? Same accolades from me.👌

Jeff, I don't know if you've ever run across this here, but there used to be a guy @dma1965 who modded a bunch of TL-29s. I think when he started, he was turning the screwdriver blade into a short Wharncliffe that he could use for whittling:

Later, influenced by a very well presented tutorial by @esnyx , @dma1965 did a bunch more modding, getting increasingly more sophisticated IIRC:

Congrats on your new Kaufman pruner, Jeff, and plaudits to Steve for his thoughtful generosity!:cool::

Thanks for the links, Gary!
Was wondering how I missed those threads, but realized 2012 was my year in the hospital.
After taking pics of today’s pocket companions, I changed my mind after seeing the TL-29 mod thread.

I decided to put the Pal back, and dug out my first FrankenKnife.

I picked these last night.
SW rope knife because I plan on cutting a whole lot of baling twine for supporting tomatoes, which will be needing that pretty soon.
The hawkbill in case we want salad again tonight, and the TL-29 by PAL Blade Co just because.B39849C3-04CE-4ADE-B977-E3A16BD9AE9F.jpegE797B070-2483-4A0F-B275-00C4CAA7C2C6.jpeg
But the PAL needs ti be repaired. I got it at the Badger Blade Show right before they missed a couple of years due to the Wu-flu. I got it dirt cheap, because there was no hiding the fact someone had repinned it at the pivot, and repinned it crookedly.4EAA2431-7CC7-48B0-8683-3495232C9729.jpeg I really need to repair it before I use it, so I took this one out of the cigar box that’s dedicated to knives I have fiddled, fettled, and farted around with. Happy Micarta Monday!
