• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Jeff, I don't know if you've ever run across this here, but there used to be a guy dma1965 who modded a bunch of TL-29s. I think when he started, he was turning the screwdriver blade into a short Wharncliffe that he could use for whittling:

Later, influenced by a very well presented tutorial by esnyx , dma1965 did a bunch more modding, getting increasingly more sophisticated IIRC:

Thanks for the links, gonna have to go down this route as I can't let well enough alone 😅
Back to work means back to the truck console for the 1/4 open glamour shot.
That's a stunner Jon! I suspect she takes glamour shots at all fractions of open 😉
I took this one out of the cigar box that’s dedicated to knives I have fiddled, fettled, and farted around with. Camillus TL-29.
Dig your mod Jeff. Sometimes I think your garden grows old knives...
Thanks fellas … makin me wanna rush right over there now!
Hope your dentist is a good one Paul! I know that (expensive) pain 😬

And here's my two linesmans' knives, check out the unsharpened TL! 😁 Grandpa was a radio man in the Pacific Fleet, and later a linesman for Ma Bell. Dunno if I ever saw a TL or similar in his tools, but he wasn't much for hanging on to things anyways.

Thanks man! But I’m not sure any knife looks right at 3/4” open. I’m not sure why - but that looks weird to me 😂😂😂.

Those are some vibey old TL’s. They’ve got good soul 👌🏼.

My usual Case Bullnose along with a Case tool to aid opening that stays on the keychain. Ironically, the tool was needed to help with a nail busting GEC, but is not needed for the Case. Turns out it is pretty handy for opening other things like paint cans or even a screw. So now it stays on the key chain.

Just thought I'd share this here, I know it's a Switchblade, but at around 70 years old, Im hoping it'll be welcomed here,
I managed to get a brand new/old stock post WW2 Weltersbach Leverlock,

I sharpened it, now it gets used daily.
