What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Nice. Have you seen the Slimline thread?

I have been driving the 50 mile trip down to my parent’s house once a week to plant and tend a few tomato and lettuce plants off their back deck. Tried to make it so they can water them from the deck. They’re too old to have a garden anymore. And we always put some chairs in the open garage door and visit a bit. Dad likes to wave at the kids heading to the park district pool.

Fifty miles aint that far, so I have no excuse not to do that year round. Your dedication inspires me.

Feels like coming home, huh?
Big Red’s looking good.

I keep my Apple Auto Fill, and Auto Correct turned off. Mostly to keep my brain sharp, but also because of the words it comes up with.

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before…

Nice ‘n fancy. What would @Primble see?

But it sticks out of the top of the watch pocket, right? And then it grinds into your gut when you squat. No squatting for you.

Canoes I could paddle!

No, I hadn’t seen it, but I just checked it out. I sure need some of those GEC #48s though!

I forgot to compliment your very fine Primble, Jim. I'm finicky about gunstocks (ok, most things) but this one looks just so, and that pocket-worn jigging 😍

In the spirit of Mr. P baiting, I fished this Redwood burl handled fixed blade out to tote today. What monstrosities might be depicted on these scales?
Make it the best Tuesday it can be, Porchsters!

Thank you, FC — much appreciated. 🙂

And, that Redwood Burl is a critter fest, to be sure. 😉

Thanks for the info, Todd; sounds quite refreshing! ;)

It's cool that you adjusted easily to the end of your teaching, Bob! :cool::thumbsup::cool: I'm definitely ambivalent about the end of that long period of my life, even though I'm sure the time is right.

:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: My problem is I like ANY size between 3.25" and 4.5". 🤓

Thanks for the kind words, Bob and Jeremy. :)

I like that phrase, "Barlows all the way down", especially since you post lots of turtle pictures! 🤓
Quality quartet of knives! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Debonair dark pair, JJ! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:
Do you know anything about the man with hat on the French blade?

Thanks for the info about what you could see from your seats. :) I'm guessing all the newer ballparks have good sight lines from everywhere in the stands. I went to a game in the mid-70s at old Comiskey Park in Chicago and sat a ways back in the upper deck in left field. I could only see the left fielders as they came out to take their position, and as they went in to the dugout. Otherwise, the upper deck in front of me blocked off where they stood.

Distinctive double lambsfoots, Jack! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

That Western punch stockman is a handsome knife! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Congrats on the new Trash Panda II SAK, ED, and props to Bob for his thoughtful generosity! :cool::thumbsup::cool:
My favorite part of your gift is the back of the package that simultaneously shows the "Live Fast, Eat Trash." message on the knife and the CA warning label reminding us that such a diet causes cancer and reproductive harm. 🤓

Kudos to your wife for landing that pair of knives! :cool::thumbsup::cool:
I've never seen an automatic-opening knife in person; is that what the Hammer Brand toothpick is?

Thanks, Jim. :) I love my brass dogs knife (and almost any cast metal knife I've ever seen), but mine is just a Novelty Knife Co. knock-off of an old Hoffritz (IIRC) model I've seen a couple of folks post here.

That SBJ is a wonderful knife, Bart! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
I'm impressed with the attention you pay to quality control on your ramp! 🤓

Whenever I see that one, JJ, I can practically hear the hounds baying (or the bulldogs grunting/snuffling)! 🤓:thumbsup::thumbsup:

The "fireworks" on your horn Guardians lambsfoot are perfect for celebration, Jack! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Notable pair, Bob! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Cherish the Churchill! Pursue the Pickle! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Jer, you're a walking contradiction, partly truth and partly fiction! 😁
Sweet SAK Solo! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Love your knife selection, Todd, but loathe your lunch choice! :thumbsup::thumbsup:🤓

Couple of really nice knives and stories, Jeff! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Yes, it is an automatic. She knew I’d want it when she saw the candy stripe celluloid handle wrapping, and she knows I have a soft spot for Imperial/Hammer Brand anyway.

Canadian case along with my regular old 78 SAK.

Snapshots of England looking her best.

The cone on top of King Alfred made me smile though it was a little disrespectful its English humour (stupidity).

Its not all roses dont let the photos fool you the pain in my hand is so bad its knocking me out.

Still I have to try as riding my bike means so much to me, I wouldnt swap for any car not even for a million pound super car.

2 hour total ride with 2 hour in stops to let the pain subside in between.

Sorry to hear your hand is still giving you a great deal of pain, John. Good to hear you are perservering and continuing to ride.

Two capable slicers Jon.
Thanks Bob. I found a way to use the 72 to cut paper that logically should have been a scissors job and the 86 was relegated to fidget duty. Office life was sharp today.

But it sticks out of the top of the watch pocket, right? And then it grinds into your gut when you squat. No squatting for you.
Nope. You gotta angle that sucker. Nothin out the top. Plenty of squatting. Can’t have anything gutting me in the guts.
