Good scoreYes, it is a very sad day in the American knife industry. I just picked up this paring knife at a church garage sale a week or two back. 6-1/2" overall with 3-1/8" blade. I had to dig to the bottom of the pile of 25-30 other kitchen knives before I spotted it. Old Hickory... the kitchen knife I grew up with. I've never seen a folder though. Sweet! Thank you!Love the wheels.
I hear ya. 2 kids, 2 dogs, and a bunch of cattle. I never had a chanceI aspired to be a whisperer, but then I got married, had a kid, and got a Rhodesian Ridgeback. Sometimes you gotta yell just to be heard.
Got it about 15 years ago. I saw an add for it on the bulletin board at the feed store outside of town. The guy had traded someone for it and wanted wanted some money and space for his next car project so he was getting rid of it. I had been wanting an old car for a while. It was mostly restored and for $4500 I couldn’t pass it up. It was before we had kids and I told my wife if we don’t get one before we have kids we probably never will and she agreed. Here’s a better picture of it.Good knife. No frills, thrifty on the wallet, and that thin blade is perfect for slicing blacl olives and mushrooms for your pizza.
I have experienced Los Angeles traffic. Never again, if I can help it.
I don’t even go into Chicago anymore, which is only an hour away.
What’s the back story on your Seafoam Green Bel Air? Did you restore it?
Found mint in an old widow’s barn?
That's a beauty Bart. California written all over it.Thank you!

The old Buddy Holly song? Cool!Another beautiful day here in the City by the Bay! Some blue sky for a change which means it just might warm up a little more at my house today. My daughter and bride closed out the Dead and Company‘s final show last night and said it was awesome! The Giants are on a roll five in a row! With a nod to metal and micarta Monday the usual lamb and a Scout. Have a great week folks! For those who are Dead Heads the show ended with “Not Fade Away” seems fitting.

Good news, but "hope for the best, prepare for the worst" isn't bad advice. All normal. I needn't have packed for hospital admission.
As always, superb photos of your trip out and about, Johnny!A short ride out today behind my bike is Chequers the country house of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

The farm shop and cafe was closed when I arrived so I found a nice cafe in a garden centre, where I also bought the hedgehog for £2.50 to go with the guardians of my Bunny knife.

Yeah, that Florist/Garden Knife is hard not to love, and I think of it as a SAK, too. Glad your friend likes it.That IS a great knife for the garden.
I mentioned the other day about my friend to whom I’d given my home made belt knife to, and he gave it back. Last summer, I gave him one of my three Victorinox Florists.
Well, I stopped by his farm Friday, and had a nice long talk with him. As I was leaving, he pulled the Vic out of his pocket, and told me he loved the knife, and uses it constantly.
And I call it a Swiss Army Knife, technically correct, or not.
I like having a serrated blade available, probably because until 10 years ago, I used a $2 plastic-handled steak knife as my only food prep knife. It is
The only other one I've seen is yours
I have these other two 54's with serrated speys and jigged bone. I find it interesting that the serrated blades of these two are different than the one in the rosewood.

I've had to deal with uncontrolled aggressive dogs charging our tiny dog while out for a walk at least 3 times in the past, twice this year. I feel fortunate that neither of us has gotten hurt, but I've been working on finishing up one of my oak walking sticks that I started a couple of years ago. Or maybe I need something lighter that I can swing faster and maneuver more nimbly, like the shaft of an old headless golf club I have in my office....
Blimey Gary, glad you're both OK!I can remember having to do the same, many years ago, but I was only in my 20's!
Love that pic![]()
Thank you my friend![]()

Thanks, Bob.I would have preferred your summer routine.
Simplicity at it's best Gary. Your lamb is wearing a fine horn coat.
My desk top and Macbook lap top are dead weight now.they quit supporting them years ago, and I just use my phone for everything. For several years, I only used the desk top for taxes and printing music charts for church. Now, I use an accountant, and at my new church, all the music is prepared for me.
Anyway, there’s no such thing as a free app. If you’re not paying for it, you are the product.
Cream, or more accurately, Eric Clapton, copied Born Under A Bad Sign from Albert King ~ one of my all-time favorite guitarists.
Back in the ‘70s, I spent countless hours guitar in hand playing along to both Albert and Eric vinyl. Lifting the needle, and trying to cop the guitar work. Lots of others, too…Allman Brothers, Jerry Garcia, Albert Collins, Elmore James…
I’m glad your testosterone was sufficient to intimidate that dog! I despise people that can’t be bothered to secure aggressive dogs.
I have a MacBook that the college issued me in 2015, and they'll probably want it back soon (although when I complained in January that the battery wouldn't hold a charge anymore, they investigated and said Apple didn't have batteries for that model anymore). So I'll probably be in the market for a low-tier MacBook Air very soon; I think I can "cash in" many years' worth of credit card bonus points to cover most, if not all the cost. Like Mike, I think my preference is a laptop for internet stuff.I have a smart phone, but I'm scared of appsI vastly prefer my laptop for internet stuff. I like the bigger screen and having a real keyboard. I can't type too good with my thumbs
Glad you got in a good kick. I agree with Jeff @Amir Fleschwund regarding dog owners that don't secure aggressive dogs.
Thanks Jeff
I'll admit to being with GT on this one. I thought of Hee Haw first

Glad my canoe could inspire you!As a matter of fact, it was your RR tortoise canoe which got me looking forcheapinexpensive tortoise in the first place. And I'm coming to appreciate (slightly) larger knives these days. I'm carrying a Case medium stockman today and I have two Buck medium stockmans. That said, my favorite at the moment is the 3" Case small swell center jack.
That Böker Barlow is a classic!
I like the light winking off the edge!
Classy pair, Jack!...
Have a great day everyone
