Gorgeous bocote on a very nice Jack!

It's hot too hot for this old codger to do outside work yet, I need part of our property weed wacked for fire suppression so, I've got a couple of guys coming to weed wack about an acre of our property. They're young and do a really great job. They'll be starting in a few minutes while it's only about 70º right now but will climb into the high 90s by about noon. I'll tote this Bull Nose. Don't know what Cindy is having for breakfast but I've already got the coffee on.

Recently, ephsea ephsea offered me a piece of Osage Orange. I told him if he had a piece big enough to handle a file knife, when I make time to fiddle around, I’d love a piece.

I got a box yesterday, a box a foot long. Four big chunks of heavy, hard Osage. You can tell it’s hard by the burn marks from his saw. ~ enough for many knives. So thank you very much, mi Amigo! Awesome addition to my special stash.BA9D2B39-1303-4333-9EA9-2ACBACDF66C2.jpeg
He also sent a little gardener’s bonus…
See if y’all can identify it ~

I’m going to try and find a use for these thoroughly thrifty Thursday totes. I believe both are handled with Polyoxymethylene.
At least the Camillus 72 is for sure. 2C848342-7479-412C-82C5-137BE5FDF195.jpeg

Amir Fleschwund Amir Fleschwund almost looks like the garlic I have growing.

Apologize for not having time to look back more than a few pages but thanks to everyone for their pics. This combo does everything I might need today. ephsea ephsea this Busse SK saved mine and my wife's bacon one day during a walk when attacked by a full grown male Rottweiler on the loose in a cul-de-sac close to where we live. A lady saw it occur and opened her front door for us to get inside. It had previously chased her inside while she was carrying in her groceries. She was an angel looking out for us. Wife screaming wildly, me firmly "don't run" in defensive stance in front of her with SK drawn. Big boy zooming at us from about 100 ft away, mad as hell about something, stopping about a foot from me. Honestly thought we were both going to the ground both bleeding alot. Slowly backed away and got inside our angel's house, called 911, waited for animal control to show up, lasso the mutt and issue owner a citation. Owner was PO'd yelling at me. Told him he was lucky I didn't have my 9mm on me. For the record I love dogs, but there is no place for big aggressive dogs on the loose.

I've been a fan of Old Hickories since 1980 or thereabouts.

All any of us can do is endeavor to persevere.

Everybody have a blessed Sunday :)
Yes, it is a very sad day in the American knife industry. I just picked up this paring knife at a church garage sale a week or two back. 6-1/2" overall with 3-1/8" blade. I had to dig to the bottom of the pile of 25-30 other kitchen knives before I spotted it. Old Hickory... the kitchen knife I grew up with. I've never seen a folder though. Sweet! 20230719_142527-E14-DDS.jpg
