It's a rotten thing to have to deal with Gary. I used to carry the shaft of an old fishing rod rest, which my industrious grandfather had made. It was 3ft or so in length, made from thick, substantial cane, and with a brass ferrule at either end. Have you thought about a sjambok?I've had to deal with uncontrolled aggressive dogs charging our tiny dog while out for a walk at least 3 times in the past, twice this year. I feel fortunate that neither of us has gotten hurt, but I've been working on finishing up one of my oak walking sticks that I started a couple of years ago. Or maybe I need something lighter that I can swing faster and maneuver more nimbly, like the shaft of an old headless golf club I have in my office.
Thanks for the comment on my reflective horn sunset photo, Jack. Better to be lucky than good!![]()
That was half the problem with that dog too, it had a lot to say, but was as soft as anything. It belonged to an ex, and while a nice dog, had never had any trainingI agree with you guys about aggressive dogs and clueless owners. But I have to confess my tiny dog acts very aggressively towards other dogs when he's on his leash, but maybe he's counting on me not actually letting him loose when he's starts growling and yapping at some big dog on the other side of the street.![]()
Thanks buddyClassy pair, Jack!![]()

I hand picked this Sodbuster at the Case factory store last weeks. The best Case knives are among the best out there, although you might have to go through a few!
Thank you, Bob. It’s a special knife for me.Peter, you have a beauty there.
First three years computers were in our classrooms we had Apples. Then, a new administration entered and all that was thrown out for Dells.![]()
Sorry, included response to GaryThank you, Bob. It’s a special knife for me.
For a work/school computer there is no better than Apple in my honest opinion. The UI is very intuitive compared to windows. Same with the phones.
A very fine carry and I've really been enjoying the bocote this run. I give, gonna have to hunt one down. It will be a giant by my standardsCame home to find this one waiting for me -- just in time for this afternoon's walk with the dogs...
Mr. P, were you offering rain dances of dubious efficacy..? In that case I must warn you that my miracle manifestation abilities may be somewhat undeveloped. I'm working on it!You mean it worked !!??![]()
I'd love to see what you make with 'em, run your circular saw blades backwards on this stuff. Good for tool handles too. If you orient perpendicular to the grain you will be rewarded with excellent chatoyance. Will take a polish on it's own or danish oil works great.I got a box yesterday, a box a foot long. Four big chunks of heavy, hard Osage. You can tell it’s hard by the burn marks from his saw. ~ enough for many knives. So thank you very much, mi Amigo! Awesome addition to my special stash.
Thank you very much, Jack!!! It's part of an old water feature that I put to use. Many thanks my friend, I really like the spot you've been using to take your photos recentlyA very cool pairing
