What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

#7 in pocket for last two weeks. Had it about 25 years and never liked it so much as I do now after some simple mods:

You know you'll love it when you can tell it has a tube inside.

I ordered it for comparison with the 2013 BF knife when it comes. The sheepsfoot is actually quite dinky on this one with a cutting edge of 1' and 7/8ths which is a 16th less than a my case peanut. I love the notch in the pile side of the handle that assists the opening of the pen blade which is of an identical size to the one on my #68, I'm sure many of the GEC pen blades share a similarity there. Unfortunately I have to make do with an iphone camera so the pictures don't do the teal coloured jigged bone justice at all. It'll be in my pocket the rest of the day methinks.

While there are many knives distant on my radar, the congress is one of a couple that for sure I'm getting this year. Just can't decide If I want a standard, half, etc. But anyways, that blue bone from GEC is one I had my eye on. Beautiful knife. Probably going or the primitive bone myself, but still considering the blue bone.

On topic though, my usual carry, but also carrying my Opie. no 6 today. I don't usually pocket carry that one because I've chosen to leave it in my tool pouch at work where I always use it, but in the mood to use it a lot lately. Also using it's bigger brother the no. 8 today to make pork and beans. Really putting me in the mood to order a walnut handle one. Maybe with blade engravings. Loving my Opinels last couple of days.

This old Camillus has certainly seen better days, but I love the bone handles, and what's left of each blade is thin and sharp!

Okay... what is it? I don't think you cracked a car that badly.

Cool picture!

Oh, very nice. I of course love the blue. :) Hopefully the "dinky" main blade will serve its purpose well enough...? ;)

In most ways it is similar to the one Sarah won in my give away last Christmas except that it has a sheepsfoot secondary instead of the pen like the one Sarah has.

Ah, the power of suggestion. Today's carry:

Sweet little knife this, if a challenge to photograph because of its super-shiny blade(s).

Ed, I don't recall seeing your sheepsfoot secondary opened. Could we please? (No hurry, I'd just be interested to see it.)

I love it :D that is a knife with some real character. I don't think that knife had better days, I think it is beautiful just the way she is. Great pics as always :)

Thanks Mark. I love it just as it is, too. By better days I simply mean the condition of the steel. But, given a choice between a worn down, well-used, old knife and a shiny new one, I'll take the old fella every time.

Thanks Smithhammer, GTB is one of the best brewery's around. My friend just climbed the Grand in a day and stopped there on the way home, said the nitro stout was impressive.

Kris - Glad he had successful trip up the Grand, and enjoyed the beer. We're proud of our local brewery! I live a block away from it, so I might be found there a little too often...

We are planning a trip down there, just to get some beer, here in the near future. Will have to meet up for a beer.

No problem, Sarah as I am carrying it again today.

I sometimes forget how nice these little knives are. I believe for normal (not extreme) duty I could use one of these all the time. Although the sheepsfoot angle looks a little weird on this knife, it is actually quite optimum for the pattern and makes it quite comfortable and handy to use. But, I like the pen blade as well. My 250C "stockman" like pattern has the pen in the rear like your knife, but has a sheepsfoot as secondary to the main blade like a stockman pattern. It is hard to find them, not that many were made.
