That looks like a quality way to end the day.Had this on the belt today. View attachment 2307364
Love the Trestle Pine and the jigged pen as well!
What a cool combo of spear/swedge/matchstrike pull. That would be a cool GEC recreation.Another balmy 54° to start the day; will soon ruin it with a round of golf.
Dug this ole Catt equal end ebony out of a drawer.View attachment 2307485

It is a nice one Jon. Now, GEC just has to take the hint. What a cool combo of spear/swedge/matchstrike pull. That would be a cool GEC recreation.

Your fixed blade looks great for so many tasks Jon...nice.

When I was a kid, I loved going to the feed store with my granddaddy. Usually meant loading some corn in the truck, buying a couple vapes of hay and having the grind these up,mix with some molasses and bag in 50 pound burlap bags. I can almost smell the sweet feed now. Thanks for reminding me of better times.Feed store run. Y'all have a nice long weekendView attachment 2307610
Nice knife but the S&W steals the show. I bet it is fun to drop the hammer on full power 357'sFirst time carrying this snake wood 36.

Great Remy, Paul. Almost looks like it’s passed through a
There’s a line that anyone who mods knives cross. What was the first valuable knife you ever busted open? This is a Northwoods Norfolk pattern. I'm not sure of the year of manufacture. They were quite popular. Here is what it looked like before. I ended up modding it with this amber stag. A vast improvement, IMO.
You don't find many of these out in the wild these days...

Au contraire, those are above par compared to what I usually use.Not up to par with most of the knives I see posted here, but I added (and carried) a Case CV Mini Copperlock in mahogany bone today.
My OCD hasn't accepted it yet, but there's some burgundy in there.
Makes for a decent transition piece, I think? TBD.
Yeah, and it would not be cost effective to borrow a reefer box truck and drive all the way out there and back! You’ve got plenty of users I’d love to have, Jeff. We actually just got half a dozen steers back from the butcher but they’re all spoken for. I don’t think I have enough ice packs to ship half a steer anyway.
Really impressive tomato crop, Jeff. Cool that you grow so many different varieties.
Thanks Bob. Everything went smoothly in Oregon. Too bad I didn’t have time to fish the bass pond in the picture yesterday.
Thanks Jack. One of my favorite knives and my favorite bass pond.
I saw that news story. It might take a while one at a time. I actually have a longhorn steer named Sparky that I halter broke years ago. I’ve never tried to put him I my truck though. I’ll see if I have a picture of him.
Nice leather bound notebook. My son brought one home for me from somewhere in Europe, or the UK. It’s not for everyday things like a shopping list, it demands more thoughtful, timeless entries that are worth revisiting. Quotes, Bible verses…
And for everything else. Our kitchen cabinet is all Ball jars.Wonderful knife. Love the drink glass. Pint Ball jelly jars make wonderful distilled spirits glasses
HSB been there done that, and is ready for another 80+ years. And now, back to our regularly scheduled programing of Golden Oldies:

Those look great, love the bocote.
I vote some sort of wood like you said, Mesquite or otherwise. And yes indeed, she is awesome! The usual, with Stella in the background just because she’s awesome. I’ve been contemplating a recover to some kind of black micarta, oak, maybe mesquite? What say you? Do it or heresy and leave alone? I love this knife but natural micarta has to be my least favorite color of all time.

which model SAK is that? Not the manager or signature, those have pens on the other end. It’s going to be a beautiful day here in the City by the Bay! Just returned from my weekly pilgrimage to the grocery store. Along for the ride the usual lamb (Harvey Special) and the always handy little SAK. Lots of sports on tap with the start of the college football and the increasingly fading Giants. Have a great holiday weekend!
