What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

SAK of the Week is a Victorinox Explorer, picked up pre-owned at a local gun&knife show almost 8 years ago:

Lovely pair Paul !

Running late today. Can't stay long. Sticking with a Buck 501 Squire in a belt sheath today. No breakfast today - gums swollen and sore - chewing/gumming out of the question. No lunch either - maybe a couple spoon fulls of Jif Creamy peanut butter and let that melt in my mouth. Cindy is preparing a thin soup for me for dinner tonight. She'll include meat, onions, celery, and what not in it but for flavor only for me - no chewing/gumming. Maybe soak some saltine crackers as they pretty much turn to mush once they soak a bit.

Best wishes Ed, I hope you feel better soon !

Yes, just names Rick :( Wright's has changed hands a number of times, but at least it was sold as a cutlery company, rather than someone just buying the name. TEW has an even more convoluted history, involving different partners, and companies merging, but until recently it was still in the original 'Eye Witness Works', and the last I heard, their gaffer was still Alistair Fisher of the Harrison Fisher family. However, their knives have been made all over the place for the past couple of decades, with their entire kitchen range being imported from China.

Have a great time Paul

Fine-looking pair Pete :)

Many thanks my friend :)

Thanks buddy :D

Great to see those two gorgeous Remingtons again JJ, particularly together, they look superb

Happy Labor Day to my friends in the US :) And Happy Monday to everyone else! 😖:D:thumbsup:

Rosewood and Ebony to start my week

Great pair to start the week !

For this first full week of September, my rotation schedule assigned me a couple of canoes, as usual. One is a stag Mohawk canoe from AG Russell, one of my favorite knives:

The other Canoe of the Week is a Rough Rider Armorhide canoe:

But by a happy coincidence, the schedule assigned me a "bonus canoe", since the Stag/Horn Knife this week is a Buck stag canoe!

Whenever we get anywhere near fall, I start grabbing my old Case knives. These are from the 1940’s to the 1970’s. The Canoes from the mid-70’s have the best etch ever put on a knife in my opinion. It goes into the the metal. The image takes me to another, better, time and place.

5K Qs 5K Qs , love that Buck Stag Canoe Gary. Do you know about when it was made? I also love that pocket worn Humpback Case Stockman you got from Mike and posted a few pages back. Would you mind telling me the name
of that color and the model number? I would love to find one like that.

Jeff, your posts have a way of bringing back good memories. When I was a youngun my grandparents had Foxfire #4 on the table between their recliners. When I would go over, I would read as much as I could in that book. Wonderful memories.
When Grandma passed in 07, I asked about that book. No one knew what happened to it, but my wife overheard my question. That Christmas she had me the full set.
Thank you for the memory
You are welcome, Rick. Aren’t the Foxfire books great? I have/had the complete set, but my son has absconded with some. Always one at a time, because he flies from Denver and back with no checked bag.

Glad for it, because they will be his one of these days, anyway.

Two Cases in one pocket, and for getting stuff for salad later, @SteveC’s hawk.

The well worn Chicago Cutlery paring knife, and @Sunknife’s Green River are cutting up the stuff for salsa. F4665348-E734-4611-9898-F29A45B43D69.jpeg
Enjoy your day, folks.
