What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

For this first full week of September, my rotation schedule assigned me a couple of canoes, as usual. One is a stag Mohawk canoe from AG Russell, one of my favorite knives:

The other Canoe of the Week is a Rough Rider Armorhide canoe:

But by a happy coincidence, the schedule assigned me a "bonus canoe", since the Stag/Horn Knife this week is a Buck stag canoe!

I can see why Gary !

You are welcome, Rick. Aren’t the Foxfire books great? I have/had the complete set, but my son has absconded with some. Always one at a time, because he flies from Denver and back with no checked bag.

Glad for it, because they will be his one of these days, anyway.

Two Cases in one pocket, and for getting stuff for salad later, @SteveC’s hawk.

The well worn Chicago Cutlery paring knife, and @Sunknife’s Green River are cutting up the stuff for salsa. View attachment 2309826
Enjoy your day, folks.

They are great books. A lot of history and information. Buildings built by people with little to no formal education but a whole lot of common sense and understanding. Also a lot of great teachers, keepers and passer downers of knowledge at that time.
Very nice carry selection today.
You have a great day too.

Gonna be a somewhat laid back day. Light showers are possible this afternoon. Staying home but tomorrow we're going to town and the Wagon Wheel Cafe for sure. "Burning Man" people will be coming through Alturas and they like to stop at the Wagon Wheel as they spread North and West to the Pacific Northwest. They're usually covered with the white, alkaline, dust of the desert but this year, they're going to be muddy as all get out. It'll be a sight to see. I'm carrying this Lambfoot today which was a thoughtful gift from Dan sf fanatic sf fanatic . It's a bit unusual as it has a long bolster. Anyway, I'm a bit better today and am going to attempt to eat one of Cindy's soft, fluffy, pancakes and scrambled eggs. Thanks to all who passed on get well wishes yesterday.

Today’s pair. Hope everyone is having a great holiday. And remember, it’s the entire Porch’s responsibility to root for the Clemson Tigers all year long to have a respectable showing, starting with this evening’s contest against the Fighting Krzyzewskis. But gah…FSU looked tough last night. I’m afraid Bobby Bowden’s ghost might be back.
