You have some fantastic Smiths.
Great Remy, Paul. Almost looks like it’s passed through aglennbad procedure…
There’s a line that anyone who mods knives cross. What was the first valuable knife you ever busted open?
Just curious, because as a rank amateur, I have only modded broken ones, or common ones like TL-29s.
And I don’t mean to imply TL-29s are not valuable![]()
Glad you are feeling better, Ed. Very nice lamb today as well. Have a nice easy day my friend.Gonna be a somewhat laid back day. Light showers are possible this afternoon. Staying home but tomorrow we're going to town and the Wagon Wheel Cafe for sure. "Burning Man" people will be coming through Alturas and they like to stop at the Wagon Wheel as they spread North and West to the Pacific Northwest. They're usually covered with the white, alkaline, dust of the desert but this year, they're going to be muddy as all get out. It'll be a sight to see. I'm carrying this Lambfoot today which was a thoughtful gift from Dan @sf fanatic . It's a bit unusual as it has a long bolster. Anyway, I'm a bit better today and am going to attempt to eat one of Cindy's soft, fluffy, pancakes and scrambled eggs. Thanks to all who passed on get well wishes yesterday.

I just checked and they don't play Missouri, so sure. If they did play Missouri, I bet the Tigers would winToday’s pair. Hope everyone is having a great holiday. And remember, it’s the entire Porch’s responsibility to root for the Clemson Tigers all year long to have a respectable showing, starting with this evening’s contest against the Fighting Krzyzewskis. But gah…FSU looked tough last night. I’m afraid Bobby Bowden’s ghost might be back.

Both of my kids and SIL are Clemson grads; we are ‘All In’ on the Tigers!! Hopefully, the new OC will bring some juice to the offense!! The ‘Cadence Call’ has been playing in my head all day … ‘C-L-E-M-S-O-N … T-I-G-E-R-S … Fight Tigers, Fight Tigers, Fight, Fight, Fight!!’Today’s pair. Hope everyone is having a great holiday. HI Mike. I modded that RR080 by grinding the spay blade into a punch. Here's a pic of the other side.A Rough Rider with a punch?! I don't believe I've seen that one before. What is the model number if you don't mind?
What color is the Humpy? I like it.SAK of the Week is a Victorinox Explorer, picked up pre-owned at a local gun&knife show almost 8 years ago:

Unforgettable (and disturbing) burl, Gary!Wow! That is some wild burl! That looks like it will make a great EDC.
Reminds me of the Buckeye Burl on this Utility Burt Foster made for me.

Cool Ford tractor, ED!...
Sold the old Ford tractor a while back. Came in handy to put our place in and put in the back road but way too much more than we need now.

Dass Wismar sicherlich ein schwarzes Messer ist!
That's certainly not an injury you'd predict, Jack!...
Thanks a lot BartMy injuries seem to come from very mundane causes, as I get older. I hurt my shoulder in a freak accident wrestling with a can of kidney beans! Had to take a trip to the hospital with Wee Staggy first thing this morning!

Couple of very handsome knives, Jeff; I have an inexplicable affinity for fake stag!I switched to a Schrade made Craftsman Whittler for Schradurday. And the new GEC is not getting a rest.View attachment 2299636View attachment 2299637

I don't consider myself a Barlow fanatic, but Böker Barlows with that bolster stamp seem like a classic knife to me! Congrats on getting your ready for action!1970s (ish) Boker sheepsfoot Barlow. It was a rustball and I figured it would either clean up well or I could tear it apart and play around with it. Blades were pretty full and nothing looked too bad.
A little steel wool, some brass brushes and a lot of oil later and it looks pretty good. Great action too. Underbladed with half stops but spring is flush with the liner in all positions. Well made. I'll throw it in the rotation!
Oddly top heavy because of those giant steel bolsters, though!
